Beluga Song
We hear you, white angels of the deep,

carrying moonlight in your skin

and songs older than memory.

We see you in the echo of the captive pool —

all you have ever known,

what you have come to perceive as home.

But you were born for oceans that sing,

for tides that breathe like a prayer,

for the endless cradle of salt and sky

where your families touch foreheads and remember.

If you cannot return to the wild sea,

may there be a sanctuary of gentleness —
