COVID-19 Update.
Dear Patients, we’ve missed you, we are about to take the first steps back!
Firstly, may we thank you all for your patience, good humour and kind wishes, everyone has been so understanding. We hope you are all coping well and keeping well.
Whilst we have remained open throughout the lockdown to treat a very few patients in dire need, we are now looking to start to treat the next tranche of patients with problems.
We intend to start up with a very limited service next week. We will see a few patients from our backlog list with the triaged greatest need, and test the new systems we have put in place to work to the guidelines.
As a private practice, it transpired earlier this week that we are not bound by advice to the NHS dental service, and will be able to treat our patients without referral to the Urgent Dental Care Centres that were set up during lockdown, as long as we put procedures in place that provide a safe environment for patients and staff.
Most dental procedures however are aerosol generating, and therefore require enhanced PPE, which is in very limited supply.
The patient experience will be very different from before, we will contact the people we will see first and talk them through the procedures required by the various bodies involved.
Do not attend the practice without an appointment, as unfortunately we are only able to admit patients with a scheduled procedure into a prepared surgery.
If you have any dental problems please contact the surgery next week, and you will be triaged and added to the list.
We hope to restart routine appointments in the near future. Everyone who has had an appointment cancelled will be contacted in turn after we have dealt with the immediate needs.
