A & A Podiatrists

A & A Podiatrists Podiatry is a key service and we are providing treatments to all patients. We are busy and there is a waiting list but please feel free to book ahead.

A & A Podiatrists and Associates was formed in 2001 in Radlett. Michael Abrahams is joined by Craig in the clinic with Joseph Gaffin providing a home visiting service. Podiatrists are regulated by the Health and Care Prlofessions Council and we are members of the Royal Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists. The clinic provides a breadth of services internally and has a network of professionals we refer to if surgery or physiotherapy is required. Podiatry is the newer name for Chiropody. It encompasses all aspects of foot health. From hard skin, cracked heels and corn removal to verrucae, ingrown toenails and foot infections. We will look after feet requiring extra care for example those with diabetes, poor circulation or nerve damage. Biomechanincal assessment will allow an indepth investagation into foot function and can help to alleviate foot, leg or back pain caused by high or low arches. Orthotic foot supports and insoles can be made or provided to help improve foot function. We also have the facility to treat fungal infected nails with laser treatment avoiding the need for long term tablets or lacquers. The MLS laser is an effective treatment for plantar fasciitis and arthritis, tendonitis and other soft tissue inflammations. Naomi Burns Physiotherapst is in the clinic three times a week treating the full spectrum including foot problems. The clinic is relaxed and children or nervous patients are put at ease. The practice manager Lindsay ensures patients appointments and needs are looked after and ensure the smooth running of the clinics.

This patient had a procedure at the hospital on his toe 3 weeks ago and the stitches were taken out on Monday-
We routinely photograph feet during treatment and 3 stitches were seen when zoomed in. These we were able to remove to save him going back.

Foot Health Week 2021
The message is we are open and fully running in our clinics.
We have seen a worryingly high number of patients self treating problems unsuccessfully, misdiagnosed over telephone consultations and generally having painful and neglected feet due to the pandemic.
If you have a problem now is the time to get it sorted.

Make sure you are careful with home verruca treatment. In this case the acid has dribbled all along the foot causing minor burns. If this had applied daily the result would have been worse.

We just wanted to confirm to patients that we are still able to see patients despite Tier 4 changes. If you have an appointment please still attend (don’t arrive early) and if you need to cancel use the cancellation link in your email reminder or call.

We do still have a few appointments available before Christmas and will try our best to accommodate emergencies if you call or email with details.

However do look online first for availability.
