Wishing you all a very happy New Year! ✨

As it's a wonderful time for us to consider what nourishing things we can add into our lives for this year ahead, I am so looking forward to starting the year with new group mindfulness classes at the wonderful Vimi Eco Store in Radlett.

🙏Join us every Tuesday through January.
5:15pm.

All are welcome whether you are new or have experience with meditation.

Every class will explore a different practice and will be a chance for relaxation, to connect with yourself and others, and pick up some new tools to replenish and support your wellbeing.

Hi friends, I’ve been taking some time off being online but checking in on (although hoping we all feel able to check in with our mental health on most days if not every day 🤍)

Mental health is not a given. It is something we must tend to, nurture and hold sacred ✨

Want to start or get better at sticking with meditation?

Did you know you are 90% more likely to commit to something if doing it with others? 🤯

▪️“I find it so much easier to meditate live with a teacher or in a group. When i'm at home i'm just so distracted”▪️I hear this all the time!

If you’ve ever worked 1:1 or tried a group class vs using an app to get started with a new habit then I know you’ll relate!

As we start to establish a habit I believe the support of a teacher and a group can help to
✨make us feel safe enough to let go just that little bit more,
✨ and judge ourselves and our experience that little bit less.

You also get to learn more about the practice and ask as many questions as you like which is key to longevity of this new habit.

More often than not people come to me after a life change that has affected how they function day to day.

After I lost my Dad at 19, grief and panic attacks were what led me to take part in a mindfulness-based cognitive therapy course, and it still remains to this day one of the best things I ever did.

It forever changed how I approach everything in life and I’m truly so lucky to be able to share it with others for the past 4 years.

I am always conscious that 8 sessions can feel like a commitment, but the 8-week MBCT course arms you with tools to use way beyond the course to support you in healing and preventing overwhelm from things to come throughout our lives.

So much of what we perceive to be our struggle against life is actually our struggle against ourselves.

In life we will all experience two types of suffering.

1️⃣The first is primary pain that is inevitable for all humans: job loss, heartbreak, grief, illness.

2️⃣Secondary pain is the thoughts, emotions and behaviours that occur on top and in response to the primary pain.: ‘Why me?’, ‘I should do better’, Avoidance, anger etc.

Often it can feel like we should punish ourselves with self-criticism or desperately try to think our way out of pain as if that is the only option or what we deserve.

But there’s a big difference about ruminating about your pain and being present with your pain, with compassion. Discovering these other options is pretty life changing.

If we can allow suffering to just be as it is without added criticism and pressure that we should feel different, we can make great progress to experiencing more balance, calm and joy.

✨In week 4 of the 8-week MBCT course, in a safe and supportive group we explore these 2 layers of suffering and practice techniques that allow us to meet ourselves where we are and invite in compassion over criticism. (💡A great example of what the combination of Mindfulness and CBT looks like)

✨The 8-week course is designed to rewire your mind so you finish the program feeling and behaving differently, and armed with life-long sustainable tools for healing and wellbeing.

You can sign up to the next course starting in RADLETT on SEPTEMBER 14TH. Wednesday’s 7-9pm with a lovely small group.
