Today on International Women’s Day, I’m taking a moment to reflect on how proud I am to be a 25-year-old female business owner in the funeral profession.

This industry has traditionally been male dominated, so my journey hasn’t always been the typical one. But what I’ve learned is that compassion, kindness, and genuine care are what truly matter in this work.

Supporting families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives is something I feel incredibly honoured to do, and it’s a responsibility I never take lightly.

Today I celebrate all the amazing women who are following their passions, breaking barriers, and making a difference in their communities.

And to everyone who has supported me and trusted me with the care of your loved ones — thank you. It truly means the world.

It’s always really special to see members of our local community moving forward and doing something positive 💛

A young lady who once trusted me to care for her Nan’s funeral — and later her Grandad’s — has now taken on an exciting new chapter by reopening The White Post Inn, just up the road my office.

After being closed for some time, it’s wonderful to see this local pub buzzing again. They’re hosting a great mix of events including reggae nights, quiz nights, darts challenges and much more, alongside classic pub food and a proper Sunday roast.

If you’re local, please consider popping in and showing your support. Independent businesses really do make the heart of our community, and it’s lovely to see one brought back to life 🍻💙
