Lasts weeks evening CPD with Shona Baker from Northwest Veterinary Specialists was a real success. So, to summarise my main management steps for arthritis in general practice are;
1. Weight loss
2. Exercise management
3. NSAID use
4. Physiotherapy + Hydrotherapy
5. Supplements and additional pain relief
6. Making sure clients have an insurance policy that will help them when they need it
I also now direct all my clients to the CAM website for information on home modifications.
Finally, most importantly, please remember to keep enjoying your life with them. Don’t think because they can’t walk as far they don’t want to be involved in what you are up to – treasure every moment. Sarah x
