If you’re new here, I want to explain how I work — because it might be different to what you’ve experienced before.

I’m Josh.
I’m a specialist MSK physio.
I work in the NHS, and I also run my own private practice.

Over the years, something started to feel uncomfortable for me.

Not because people didn’t care — they really do.
But because I kept meeting people who needed more than we had time for.

People with long-term pain.
Who’d had scans.
Seen physios before.
Been told lots of different things.

But no one had really had the space to listen to the full story. I’d often leave sessions thinking…
there’s more here we haven’t explored yet.

That’s why I started building my private practice.

Not to do something “better”.
Just to do something different.

More time.
More listening.
Looking at the whole picture — not just the painful area.

We talk about how pain actually works.
How stress, fear, sleep, and beliefs can keep the system on high alert.
And then we rebuild confidence — gradually.

Movement.
Loading.
Trust in the body again.

I also live with chronic pain myself.
So I know how frustrating it is to feel rushed, brushed off, or not fully heard.

Most people I work with aren’t broken.
They’ve just been stuck in protection mode for a long time.

And once that changes — things start to move forward.

People with long-term pain don’t need more fear.
They need understanding.

So many of the people I work with aren’t “weak” or “broken” —
they’re scared.

Scared to move.
Scared to make things worse.
Scared because they’ve been told their body is damaged, worn out, or out of alignment.

And when you live in that fear long enough, your nervous system stays on high alert —
which keeps pain stuck.

In my experience, real change starts when people are:
✔️ properly listened to
✔️ given clear, honest explanations
✔️ helped to rebuild trust in their body — gradually and safely

Pain doesn’t always mean damage.
And movement doesn’t have to be dangerous.

Thinking about January already?

If pain has been running your life, you might be telling yourself:
“I’ll deal with it in the new year.”

Here’s the gentle truth:
January always fills fast. And not everyone gets the time and space they need.

My work isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about:
– Understanding your pain
– Calming your nervous system
– Rebuilding trust in your body

If you’re already thinking about change, there’s nothing wrong with starting the conversation early.

I only work with a small number of people at a time, so I can do this properly.

Want less pain and better mental health in 2026?
This is where it actually starts.

Not with fixing posture.
Not with “putting things back in”.
Not with avoiding movement forever.

Most people I see aren’t broken.
They’re stuck in a system that’s been on high alert for too long.

Years of being told:
• pain = damage
• movement is dangerous
• your body is fragile
• rest is best

That changes how you move.
How you think.
How safe your body feels.

And when your system feels under threat?
Pain sticks around.

This is why my approach looks different.

We work on understanding pain.
Calming the nervous system.
Rebuilding trust in movement.
Challenging the beliefs that keep people fearful and stuck.

It’s not about a quick fix.
It’s about taking control back.

For a lot of people, pain doesn’t just affect movement.
It affects confidence.
Trust.
The way you think about your body.

Most of the people I work with have tried things before.
Different approaches.
Different opinions.
And they’re often left wondering if this is just how life is now.

When we work together, we don’t rush.
We don’t just focus on where it hurts.
We look at the whole picture — your story, your stress, your sleep, your habits, and how your body has adapted over time. Change usually starts quietly.
Understanding replaces fear.
The nervous system settles.
Movement feels a little safer again.

Not perfect.
Not overnight.
But meaningful.

Everyone’s journey is different.
But improvement is often more possible than people have been led to believe.

Something about the way I was working before…
It didn’t sit right with me.

I often left sessions thinking:
There was more we didn’t get to.
More to listen to.
More to understand.
More to explore.

The moments I remember most aren’t techniques.
They’re the conversations.

When someone finally tells their full story.
When their shoulders drop.
When they stop guarding.

So my practice is being built around that:

Time to listen.
A space to slow down.
Care that looks at the whole person.

Because that’s how I do my best work.
That’s when real change starts.
