WE ARE HIRING!

We are looking to expand our team by adding a dedicated and hard-working funeral assistant, with the option for an immediate start.

The Person
• Honest, conscientious and reliable.
• Flexible attitude with a strong work ethic.
• Self-motivated and able to integrate into a small team.
• Smart appearance.
• Holder of a clean current full driving licence. (Full licence for a minimum of two years).
• High standard of personal hygiene.
• Discreet, with a high degree of commitment and understanding.
• A good communicator.

The Duties
• Driving, a company test will have to be taken, in both manual and automatic vehicles.
• Pall bearing.
• Coffin preparation.
• Removal of deceased persons from place of death into our care.
• Vehicle preparation/cleaning and detailing.
• Participation in our out of hours on-call rota.
• Occasional out of hours office duties, chapel viewings and/ or funerals.

The Hours
• Monday to Friday 8:30am to 17:30pm
• Overtime: In accord with company requirements.
• Regular out of hours’ rota is by arrangement.

The Rewards
The wage will be paid monthly and commences at £27,000.00 per annum.
Additional payments are made for on-call/stand-by, telephone duties (where applicable) and out of hours call outs.
After one-year full service:
(1) The annual paid holiday entitlement will be 20 days, plus public holidays.
(2) We also offer a private medical care plan
(3) Complimentary “Birthday” day off.

On 26th November 1970, a 17 year old John Weir waited at this spot to start his first day working within the funeral profession for the then family run funeral directors Thomas Fowle and sons, working as "the boy".
55 years later, a lot has changed but still as committed as day 1...

We are truly humbled to receive a thoughtful donation of a specialised cold cot in memory of babies Nellie and Nancie Cobb, which was purchased after tireless fundraising by parents Kelsie and Kye with the support of Abigail's Footsteps.
A cold cot is a refrigerated cot that allows parents to spend more time with their baby than would otherwise be possible. The cold cot helps parents to continue to bond with their baby and aids the grieving process.
It was an honour to be trusted to look after Nellie and Nancie during such a difficult time for the family and now with the possession of the cold cot their legacy will continue with the support we can offer families in the future.

On Saturday evening John attended St. Margaret's Church, Rainham for the Rainham Community Awards to present an award for the "Wild about Rainham" category which we sponsored.
John was delighted to present the award to Leigh Academy, Rainham for their contribution in improving the local environment. Congratulations!

Statement Regarding the Fuller Enquiry

In light of the recent Fuller enquiry and the deeply troubling actions which took place at Pembury Hospital, we feel it is important to give reassurance directly to our local community.
