🐣 Planning ahead for the Easter Bank Holiday?

NHS Kent and Medway is reminding everyone to think ahead when it comes to their health this long weekend. While many services are busier than usual, you can help ease the pressure by choosing the right care for your needs.

📍 Need a pharmacy?
You can find out which local pharmacies are open over the Easter break by checking the interactive map here: https://www.kmhealthandcare.uk/pharmacy-opening-times

Please use NHS services wisely so those who need urgent care can get it quickly.

🚨 Meningitis outbreak – Canterbury area

We are aware of the current meningitis outbreak affecting the Canterbury area. Health partners are working closely together to support those affected and limit further spread.

Between 13–15 March, 13 cases of invasive meningococcal disease were identified, and sadly two people have died. Urgent action is underway, including providing antibiotics to close contacts and raising awareness of symptoms.

⚠️ Know the symptoms:
• High temperature
• Severe headache
• Stiff neck
• Vomiting
• Sensitivity to light
• Rash that does not fade when pressed

If you or someone you know develops symptoms, seek urgent medical help via A&E or call 999.

🔗 Please read the latest guidance from the ICB:

Let’s stay informed, look out for one another, and act quickly if symptoms appear.

Your decision has never been more important

Most of us would accept an organ if we needed one, and you are more likely to need a transplant one day, than you are to being a donor.

If you want to be a donor, being on the NHS Organ Donor Register makes it more likely to happen.

Your decision could save up to 9 lives. It's the best thing you'll do today.

Register to be an Organ donor here https://www.organdonation.nhs.uk/register-your-decision/donate/?
