Hello all, welcome to the new winter timetable! ๐Ÿ โ„๏ธ

Gentle yoga will now be at 1pm
Chair yoga will now be at 2:15pm
Restore & Rest will continue at 6pm

Today's theme is whole body, we won't be focusing on any one area in particular just getting the body moving in tune with our breath. ๐ŸŒฌ

*Next week will be the first week of the winter timetable* โ„๏ธ

This week's theme is Supine (lying on your back)
Some days yoga may feel like a treat; you want to get yourself on the mat and move. Other days, yoga may feel like a chore or a self-indulgence you don't have time for. Even when we know it will make us feel better, your head or schedule resists it.

This week's class is a whole lesson of supine postures. For the days where everything feels heavy or days where the only time you have to yourself is bedtime, these postures will be perfect.

Don't be fooled into thinking all these poses will be easy. We'll be mixing stretching and strengthening poses to practice creating a whole body workout.

This week's theme is shoulders, with a nice mix of stretching and strengthening exercises. ๐Ÿ

We'll also be adding a bit more movements than usual touching on lymphatic draining, vagus nerve stimulation and breathing with movement. ๐Ÿ’ƒ

No matter your job, hobby and pass times our arms and shoulders are almost always involved so giving a bit more attention and movement to these areas is always a good idea. ๐Ÿ’ช

I can not apologise enough, due to ongoing health issues I am not able to teach today, therefore all classes today are cancelled.

Our wonderful NHS is many things but fast is not one of them hopefully not much longer until I'll have some insight and some treatment.

In yoga, the sun and right side of the body are considered masculine. Masculine energy is fast, warm, energizing, and more disciplined.๐Ÿ”ฅ
The moon and left side of the body are considered feminine. Feminine energy is slow, cool, relaxing, and more flowing.๐Ÿ’ฆ
Therefore, full moons are a time to embrace more feminine energy within us all. ๐Ÿ

Full Moon yoga benefits:
โ€ข Providing time for self-care, reflection, or improvement. ๐Ÿชž
โ€ข Practicing "letting go" of what no longer serves you, or releasing unwanted habits, recurring thoughts, or feelings. ๐Ÿšฎ

I am so sorry for any inconvenience caused. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ
Yesterday I suffered the worst migraine I have ever suffered and was hoping that today would bring some respite but unfortunately its still lingering.
I can not apologise enough.

This week's theme is strengthening the gluteus medius. ๐Ÿ

Following on from previous weeks focusing on hips, many people complain on a pinching in the hip, this usually comes from an overactive TFL and an under active gluteus medius. โš–๏ธ

The gluteus medius helps maintain balance and proper alignment in the hips which may prevent injuries in the future (knee/ ankle sprains). Having strong glute medius muscles will improve posture and may alleviate lower back pain. ๐Ÿ“ˆ

This week's class is a slow burn ๐Ÿ”ฅ
This class will be good for anyone who does a lot of walking or feels a lot of pinching in the hips.

The autumn equinox is a great day for this class. As day and night are coming to balance, we can practice ours. Grounding us preparing us for the future and all the seasons it brings us ๐Ÿ‚ โœจ๏ธ

Anyway! After our extended break, I thought it might be good to come back to basics.๐Ÿก

This week's classes will be just a gentle landing back into yoga with many of the poses we use every week, giving our minds and bodies a chance to catch up.โฐ๏ธ
