We are delighted to announce the upcoming launch of Private Consultant-Led Pregnancy Care with Dr Clare Redfearn, Consultant Obstetrician (MBChB FRCOG), at Oak Tree Obstetrics Ltd in Tunbridge Wells.

This service will offer personalised, compassionate pregnancy care with the reassurance of continuity from a named consultant throughout your pregnancy journey.

Our private maternity care will include:

One of the most important parts of my role is not just delivering babies — it’s listening.
When a woman comes to see me after a difficult experience, we take time.
We go through her previous pregnancy and birth in detail.
We talk about what happened medically — and just as importantly — how it felt.
Often, trauma isn’t just about what happened clinically.
It’s about communication.
It’s about feeling powerless.
It’s about fear that wasn’t acknowledged.
Understanding why decisions were made.
Exploring what could be different next time.
Rebuilding confidence.

In a future pregnancy, my focus is on personalising care completely around that woman’s experience.
That might mean:
• More frequent appointments
• Clear trauma informed birth plans
• Consultant-led continuity
• Alongside psychological support or therapy
• Or simply ensuring she feels informed and in control at every stage

There is no ‘one right way’ to give birth.

I am incredibly proud to share that I, Dr Clare Redfearn, have been awarded Fellowship of the RCOG (FRCOG)

This honour recognises significant contributions to obstetrics and to women’s health more widely. It is a privilege to work in a field that supports women and families at some of the most important and transformative moments of their lives.
