“I didn’t think a care job could work around the school run.”
When Lovely first applied to become a Care Professional with Home Instead, she almost didn’t submit the application.
As a mum of four, she believed care work meant long shifts, evenings, and nights — something that simply wouldn’t fit around school drop-offs and pick-ups. So she continued exhausting herself working night shifts, trying to balance work, family, and sleep.
But when we spoke with Lovely, we didn’t just see availability…We saw potential. And we saw someone needed to be looked after as an employee.
We saw someone who already knew how to care, someone who manages the responsibilities of four children, someone with patience, compassion, and strength.
And we knew something she didn’t yet realise:
Care can be flexible.
At Home Instead, we build schedules around our Care Professionals’ lives, not the other way around. We work with Lovely to create hours that fit perfectly around the school run and her family life.
The relief on her face said it all during interview. Because caring for others shouldn’t mean sacrificing your own wellbeing.
Today, Lovely is starting her journey at Home Instead doing what she does best — caring for others — while still being there for her family.
And that’s exactly how care work should be.
✨ If you’ve ever thought “care work wouldn’t fit around my life”, think again.
We’re looking for kind, compassionate people to join our team with flexible hours that work for you.
