*‘Miracle Baby’: Couple welcomes a baby girl via restorative reproductive medicine!*

Karen & Anthony Monetti suffered multiple miscarriages.

If only human embryos were afforded the same dignity and respect here.
Recently, I compiled a report using publicly available HFEA data for Britain (2023), and the findings were deeply sobering.
In 2023, a minimum of 77,500+ IVF procedures (including ICSI) took place in Britain, resulting in an estimated 20,700 successful embryo implantations.
On average, each IVF/ICSI cycle creates 5–10 human embryos. Using the midpoint of this range (7.5 embryos per cycle), this means a minimum of 581,250+ human embryos were created in Britain in one year alone.
The outcomes: • 581,250 human embryos created
• 20,700 successful implantations
• 560,550 human embryos lost, destroyed, or frozen
These figures are stark.
They force us to pause and ask: can IVF/ICSI truly be described as a fair or progressive fertility treatment?
Within a single year, at least 560,550 human embryos were lost as a direct result of these procedures. These embryos were the deeply desired children of vulnerable parents longing for a family.
As a society, we deserve full transparency — not only about IVF/ICSI and its outcomes, but also about alternative fertility treatments that exist.

*Is IVF including ICSI Really a Progressive solution for Sub-Fertility?*

I have created the following report using the available public data recorded by HFEA for Britain in 2023. The exact figures are quite difficult to ascertain given that only an account of the minimum figures are publicly recorded, with no accurate total figures available.

Minimum 77,500 + IVF procedures (including ICSI) occurred in Britain during 2023...
An estimated 20,700 successful embryo implantations occurred as a result

On average a single cycle of IVF/ICSI typically results in the creation of 5-10 human embryos (again this is a very vague figure, but it is the only available public data recorded). If we then base our calculations on the middle of this average figure, using a figure of 7.5 we will get an estimated minimum result of 581, 250+ *Human Embryos* created in Britain during one year (2023) alone.

Giving these staggering results:
581,250 - Human Embryos created
20,700 - successful embryo implantions
560,550 - Human Embryos lost, destroyed or frozen.

These figures are stark.

They compel us to pause and seriously reflect: can IVF/ICSI truly be described as a fair or progressive fertility treatment?

Within a single year, at least 560,550 human embryos were lost, destroyed, or indefinitely frozen as a direct result of these procedures. These embryos are/were the deeply desired children of vulnerable parents—individuals and couples who long for nothing more than to bring a child into the world.

As a society, we deserve to be fully informed—not only about IVF/ICSI and its outcomes, but also about alternative fertility treatments that exist.

One such alternative is Restorative Reproductive Medicine (RRM), a medical approach that seeks to diagnose and treat the underlying causes of sub-fertility rather than bypassing them.

Puerto Rico has enacted a new law formally recognizing unborn children as persons with the same fundamental rights granted to all human beings. Republican Governor Jenniffer González-Colón announced that she signed Senate Bill 504 into law last week, and the measure took effect immediately. The legislation amends Puerto Rico’s Civil Code to state that “every human being is a natural person, including the conceived child at any stage of gestation within the mother’s womb.” It further affirms that legal personality and capacity begin at conception, making the unborn child a subject of law for all purposes favorable to him or her. Under the new framework, unborn children may receive legal benefits such as health insurance protections, eligibility in personal injury claims, inheritance rights, donations, property interests, and certain labor-related benefits that parents may claim on their behalf. While inheritance rights remain contingent upon live birth, the law establishes legal representation for the unborn child by parents or, when necessary, a court-appointed guardian. The statute also explicitly states that recognizing the rights of the unborn does not diminish a pregnant woman’s legal authority to make decisions regarding her pregnancy under existing law. Pro-life leaders welcomed the measure. Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life, described the bill as a “landmark achievement,” saying Puerto Rico’s recognition of preborn children as persons reflects a deep respect for human life and offers a powerful example for lawmakers across the United States.
