After last weeks announcement regarding Children's ADHD and Autism assessments, we are pleased to say the ICB have retracted their statement.

The ICB have confirmed that that LCFT will continue to accept referrals for this service as the they work to confirm a commissioned framework by the end of February. We are hopeful that this means there will not be a gap in service and we can continue to refer.

Vaccination is the most effective way to protect children from serious illness.

We’re encouraging parents to check their children are up to date with their vaccinations. Check your child's red book or speak to their GP practice.

We were very disappointed the receive the below letter from Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB late last week.

The letter advises that due to unprecedented demand we will no longer be able to refer children between the ages of 11-18 to the ADHD assessment service at Lancashire and South Cumbria foundation trust, nor will they be able to see any children that have already been referred.

This is likely to be particularly upsetting to parents and carers of 11-18 year olds that have been waiting a substantial amount of time for an ADHD assessment.

NHS right to choose is still an option for patients in Lancashire and south Cumbria, and we would recommend visiting the below website to learn more and understand your options.

Do you struggle to attend for your smear test due to work or other commitments?

If your smear test is due (or overdue!) you can attend and have your smear taken on the cervical screening bus. The bus travels to various local locations including Hyndburn, Accrington, Blackburn and Nelson and you can just turn up, no appointment needed!

The Living Well Service will be offering cervical screenings for those who are eligible across Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Yesterday you may have notcied we were closed for training the the afternoon.

We used this time to learn more about Carers Link Lancashire from the wonderful Angela, who was so passionate about the work that CLL do in our area.

Its estimated that there is 75’000 unpaid carers throughout the 5 boroughs of East Lancashire that Carers Link Lancashire cover. They look after around 13’000 of these, but there is so many more carers out there that have no support.
