Today we say a heartfelt goodbye to a truly valued colleague, Thayne, as she retires.
Throughout her many years with the hospice, Thayne has embodied everything that hospice care stands for; compassion, kindness, and unwavering dedication to the people we serve.

Working predominantly within our Wellbeing Day Services, she has been a constant source of support to patients, families, staff, and volunteers alike. Her ability to bring joy and a wonderful sense of fun into our sessions is something we will all miss.
Thank you, Thayne, for the care, the warmth, and the laughter you have shared with us over the years.
We wish you the happiest and most fulfilling retirement. It is so very well deserved.

Referrals can be made by:

✔️ A family member or friend

Our team works closely with you and your healthcare providers to make sure care is tailored to your needs, helping you live as comfortably and independently as possible.

Complementary Therapies at Rossendale Hospice 🛀🏻🧖🏻‍♀️

Complementary therapies can be used alongside conventional medical treatments to help alleviate pain and other uncomfortable symptoms of illness.

At Rossendale Hospice, we offer therapies such as aromatherapy massage, reflexology, and Reiki. Our private treatment rooms are fully equipped to provide you with the best possible experience.

These treatments are available to Rossendale patients and their carers. To access our services, please complete our online referral form or call our main phone number.

Earlier this week, our wonderful volunteer Shirley spent time crafting festive decorations with patients in our wellbeing service ⛄❄️

A heartfelt thank you to Shirley for generously giving her time and creativity.

Our wellbeing sessions provide a supportive space for patients to navigate the physical, emotional and social challenges of living with a life-limiting illness. They offer the chance to connect with others in similar situations, take part in meaningful activities, receive guidance from our care team, access additional services, and so much more.

Wednesday – Early Diagnosis (Cancer)
Thursday – Long Term Conditions
Friday – Dementia Diagnosis

As we approach Christmas and New Year, we’re asking our wonderful community to keep Rossendale Hospice in mind during your celebrations. Whether you’re hosting a Christmas party, organising a workplace gathering, or planning a New Year’s event, your support can make a meaningful difference to local people facing life-limiting illness.

By choosing to fundraise for us perhaps by placing a collection tub at your venue, holding a charity raffle, or simply inviting guests to donate, you’ll be helping us continue providing vital care and support throughout the holidays and beyond.

🎄Rossendale Hospice staff wreath workshop 🎄

A huge thank you to Amy at The Velvet Stem for hosting this session here at Rossendale Hospice and generously contributing part of the ticket price back to the hospice, a total of £200 was raised which is incredible. Another thank you to Donna, our Clinical Services Lead for organising this lovely session for staff to take part in- it was a lovely evening 💙

This is a kind reminder that the deadline for Light up a Life dedications closes tomorrow.

Our Light up a Life service will take place at St Mary’s Church, Rawtenstall, next Thursday 11th December 🕒 arrive 6:30pm for 7pm start. This service is a chance to remember your loved ones and light a candle in their memory. During the service, you can enjoy a heartwarming carol service, as well as festive music played by a talented local brass band. Dedications are welcome from anybody, regardless of your connection to the hospice.
