Like most of us, I accept WiFi—the invisible energy that drives our technology.
However, I recently read an article that questioned why we readily accept WiFi, yet mention Qi (Prana, Ki, Shakti, Mana, etc.), and see raised eyebrows or hear dismissive, sometimes derisive comments!
So, I looked up what WiFi stands for and discovered it means Wireless Fidelity. This made me wonder: does the word 'Fidelity' really fit here—do we truly think of WiFi as faithful, loyal, exact, or accurate?
Anyway, all that aside, whilst Qi may not enable us to use our devices, Qi (our life-force energy) gives us vitality and wellbeing.
Join us in the practice of QiGong to discover the holistic benefits of Qi.

What is the difference between QiGong and Tai Chi
Quite simply they are both from China’s rich history of achieving and optimising holistic personal health and wellbeing, that said you may have heard of Tai Chi but less so of QiGong!
Tai Chi - whether from the Yang or Chen tradition – is characterised by flowing steps moving smoothly from one form to the next, Some might find learning Tai Chi a little challenging yet wonderfully rewarding.
Whereas, QiGong is really an umbrella term for a very broad collection of breath lead movement and meditative styles and forms. These are usually easy-to-learn, are mainly static, repetitive, and can be performed standing, seated, or even lying.
Both Tai Chi and QiGong are suitable for everyone, regardless of age, gender, or ability.
No special equipment or clothing is required - what is required is an open-mind to learning the nurturing principles of mindful self-care in a welcoming & fun way.
You will be welcome to join us in either a 45-min QiGong Taster or a 75-min QiGong class to discover the wonders of QiGong for yourself. 🥰

Janet Drake (owner of Body Mind as One) is a lifelong student enjoying new challenges and inspirations, especially those I can experience and share.
I trained at Elmhurst Ballet School for 7 years before dancing professionally. I attended my last ballet classes at age of 31, returning again to ballet classes in my 60s.
Over the years I have tried many fitness forms including High Impact Aerobics, Step, Jazz-a-cise, etc. but from my early 30s Yoga and Pilates have always been my go to forms for total wellbeing.
After a number of years looking after my son and then working as a Project Manager in the City, gaining an MBA along the way, I chose to become self-employed.
2001: I set up my own Health and Wellness business.
2009: I closed the business to support my elderly parents in their final years.
October 2010: I opened FunDancing (sadly closed in April 2020)
September 2017: I qualified as a Yogalates™ teacher
February 2018: I opened Mind Body Moment (becoming Body Mind as One in May 2020)
May & October 2019: I attained Level 1 and Level 2 in iRest® - Yoga Nidra Meditation
My learning path continues to understand functional pain free movement and mindfulness so that I can guide others into ease and wellbeing.
