👟 BAREFOOT OR SHOES? 🦶

Starting barefoot from newborn really matters, especially during tummy time.
Those tiny feet are packed with nerve endings, giving babies vital sensory feedback. When their toes can grip the floor, it helps with balance, body awareness and early strength, all supporting natural movement and development right from the start.

👣Walking barefoot allows the proper development of the foot and body.

👣One of the most important advantages of walking barefoot is the proper development of the foot and body–our physical foundation. Remember, your body needs a strong foundation just as much as your house does.

👣Walking barefoot can help develop and maintain an appropriate range of motion in the foot and ankle joints, in addition to adequate strength and stability within the muscles.

👣Walking barefoot is the best way to strengthen and maintain the full function of your feet.

👣Children become more adept at using their feet when they are allowed to roam barefoot. When allowed to go free, the feet can become sensitive instruments and tools.

👣Proprioception is the sense of the relative position of body parts in relation to the other parts of the body and provides us with information about our joint and muscle sensations.

🧠Walking barefoot can help brain development as children learn to balance and develop all of the other sensory systems in the body including proprioception. When we place shoes on our children’s feet we reduce the amount and quality of sensory information the child is getting about their environment and body.

📕 Read aloud little and often rather than worrying about finishing whole books.

📚Focus on the pages you and your baby enjoy. Gently guiding their hand to turn the pages encourages involvement.

📖 Try to read every day, especially before naps or bedtime, as it’s a lovely way to connect and create a calm routine.

Massage can support relaxation and promote better sleep, but in the early weeks babies should always be fed on demand.

Responding to hunger cues is essential for growth, development, and establishing a healthy feeding pattern 😴

Our story

Sign up to my course and learn the wonderful art of learning your baby’s non verbal cues within massage in a welcoming and calm home environment. My course differs to others as I keep my classes small so that I can teach as much as I can in 90 minutes with my knowledge of information. Apart from the massage all my classes are mother led and work around what the clients want to talk about that day.

Im Hilfra and live in Rayleigh with my husband and 2 boys. Massage has helped my children with common problems like colic, constipation, growing pains, anxiety with school and sleep problems. They also become calmer and had improved concentration.

I was trained by the NHS 16 years ago as a breastfeeding consultant, I ran a successful group in Rayleigh and helped in MB2 at Southend hospital as well as supporting the help line.

I was swayed 12 Years ago by the local Health Visitor to train with ‘International Association of Infant Massage’ to become a qualified instructor to teach parents to massage their babies as well as help with feeding issues.
