Lots of winter germs doing the rounds at the moment 🦠
So I thought I’d share a few things I swear by to support my immune system — and to help speed up recovery when something does sneak in!

As always I keep things very simple 😁

💚 Movement
Even when you don’t feel like it, gentle movement works wonders. Your immune cells rely on good circulation to do their job, so keeping things flowing is key. Nothing hard or sweaty — just:
• A walk
• A few stretches
• Or my absolute favourite… gentle bouncing or rebounding!

💚 Stay hydrated
Drink more water than you think you need. Your lymphatic and immune systems love hydration.

💚 Reduce the extra burden
Look at what you’re putting into your system that might make things harder to process:
• Fewer ultra-processed foods
• More whole, real foods
• Natural skincare + household products
• Fresh air and ventilation in your home
• Mindful alcohol intake

💚 Supplementation
I always reach for good quality vitamin C — especially higher doses when I’m unwell. It’s a simple, reliable boost for me.

💚 And finally… grounding
As you can see in this pic: feet on the earth, fresh air, and some precious daylight. It calms the nervous system, supports immunity and just makes you feel more human 🙏

Morning wake up - fascia flow routine ❤️

If you’re feeling stiff or achy
a lot of that “seizing up” comes from tight, sticky fascia — the connective tissue that holds everything together.

A gentle slow routine like this doesn’t need to be challenging yet it helps in so many ways.

❤️ Supports better posture (without “trying”)
As adhesions release, the body naturally realigns. You stand taller and move with more ease, not effort.
❤️ Reduces everyday aches and pains
When fascia is hydrated and moving well, it stops tugging on joints and muscles — meaning less stiffness, fewer niggles, and easier movement.
❤️ Increases body awareness
Gentle fascia work helps you reconnect with your body, notice what it needs, and feel more in tune with yourself.

Along with improved circulation & lymph flow, calms the nervous system, supports emotional release 🙏

🎅✨ Santa’s Silly Circuits Week!

MOVE IT OR LOSE IT! Classes this week - who knew a circuit of funny festive activities + resistance band strength could work your whole body, your brain… and your laughing muscles?
Honestly, the giggles were as good as the glute work!

These sessions are all about moving, smiling, and feeling a little bit more you again — no pressure, no perfection, just joy and gentle strength in a friendly, supportive space.

I’m More Than…

Yesterday my hairdresser told me I need to “big myself up”.
She may have been talking about my hair — which is gracefully shifting to grey 😬
but it got me thinking much deeper about who I am, what I do, and how I show up in the world.

And she’s right.

I’m more than a 53-year-old menopausal mum who’s now more curvy and going grey!
I’m a woman who’s lived, learned, grown, and gathered wisdom that I now pour back into others.

I’m more than an exercise instructor.
I’m a body worker and mobility coach, helping people move with confidence, ease, and joy as they age.

I’m more than a massage therapist.
I’m an advanced clinical therapist, trained to understand pain, the nervous system, and how to bring relief where it’s most needed.

I’m more than a hot stone therapist.
I’m a LaStone practitioner, trained in advanced geothermal techniques using hot and cold stones for deep healing.

And I’m more than someone who helps people feel good for an hour.
I help people feel at home in their bodies again — more mobile, more resilient, more confident, and more themselves.

I’m a listening ear.
I hear the stories behind the stiffness, the stress behind the tight shoulders, the life behind the pain.

I’ve seen the same pattern again and again…

People arrive to me with stiff, aching bodies — not because they’re “getting old” but because they’ve lost their natural range of movement.

If you’re already finding certain moves tricky in your 40s/50s…
imagine how that’s going to feel in your 70s & 80s.

I see it in class all the time:
Struggling to sit cross-legged on the floor…
Using your arms to get out of a chair…
Avoiding the stairs because the knees complain…
Little things we ignore until suddenly they’re BIG things.

Belly breathing (diaphragmatic breathing)
Since starting my new Purestretch classes, I’ve realised something…
Many of you are holding your breath like you’re waiting for bad news!
No wonder your body feels tense and achy.
Breathing correctly is important for good health & will help your body to relax ☺️

Here’s the simple truth:
When you breathe into your belly, your core and pelvic floor work naturally the way they’re supposed to.
When you don’t, your lower back often ends up doing all the hard work.

That’s why so many people feel stiff, achy or “weak” in their middle.

In class, we practise belly breathing because it helps you:
• switch on your core more easily
• support your lower back
• move better and feel stronger
• release tension instead of creating it

No complicated anatomy — I just help you feel and understand how your body actually works.

A miserable, rainy night last night ☔️
But absolutely worth the effort to get to class!

I’m already hearing from a few of you that your backs feel easier, shoulders are moving better, and you’ve got that lovely “ahhh” feeling in your body.

This is exactly why we do these gentle strength + stretch sessions — small, simple movements that make a big difference to how you feel for the rest of the week.

⭐️ Gentle, uplifting warm-up to ease you in

Be it muscular aches and pains, stiffness and lack of mobility, back ache, tension, stress, anxiety, menopause and related illnesses or social isolation due to these illnesses or circumstance, I provide a range of service that may help.
