The Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency confirm that taking paracetamol during pregnancy remains safe and there is no evidence it causes autism in children.
Paracetamol is the recommended pain relief option for pregnant women when used as outlined by NHS guidance - which is at the lowest effective dose, for the shortest time needed.
