Hi, it’s been a long time since I posted here. I want to invite you all over to .leaftherapies. I have 2 Instagram accounts and I can’t keep up with both!

I’m busy building my therapy business and am still supporting people with performance anxiety and much more.

As well as hypnotherapy, I can support you with talking therapy and reiki healing, which can be done over distance too!

Hello! I’ve been away from this page for a long time. I’ve been developing and building my therapy business, helping and supporting lots of people. Head over to 👉🏼.leaftherapies

I’m still singing with my band,Ready or Not, and on Saturday 8th June, we’re headlining at a local festival. It’s going to be awesome and sparkly!! 🪩 🎵🎤🎸💃🏻

As well as building a therapy business and supporting others on their journeys, I’ve continued along my own journey too. 💕 Singing and being in my band is an integral part of my ‘good for my soul’ tool kit. It re-energises me, recharges me and reconnects me. Do you have one of these too?

The nerves haven’t fully kicked in yet but I’m sure they will as the week goes on. I’ve got my techniques and tools at hand and this year I’ve got the support of the amazing . 🎤🎵🥰

Have you heard the ‘glimmers’ before?

Glimmers are the opposite of triggers. When something triggers us we move into our ‘fight/flight’ stress response. We may panic, have an increased heart rate and experience fear.

When we experience a glimmer, our parasympathetic nervous system activates (rest & digest) and we feel safe, calm and connected.

So what is a glimmer? They can be as simple as;

✨ seeing a beautiful sunset
✨ smelling cut grass or a log fire
✨ being in nature
✨ the perfect cup of coffee
✨ feeling the warmth of the sun
✨ or like my photo, seeing the light reflecting off your disco ball and seeing it light your room up.

So keep your eyes and your heart open to the glimmers that surround you. Collect glimmers and notice how even the smallest thing can change your mood, even if it’s for a few minutes.

Thank you for visiting my page and taking the time to read on.

I’m Danielle, counsellor, hypnotherapist and reiki 1 practitioner. I specialise in supporting performers, presenters, public speakers and leaders reframe and overcome performance anxiety.

I want my clients to feel safe, heard and valued. For me making a meaningful connection with you is when the real changes can begin.

What does feeling disconnected even mean?

For me, it’s not really feeling in my body. It’s a weird feeling where I’m going through the motions and not really noticing what’s happening or how I’m actually feeling about things.

Sometimes I don’t even notice that I’m disconnected. I just plod along aimlessly until someone asks me about something and I don’t have an answer or opinion.

When this happens I scare myself! How can I have been working, performing, interacting with my family and friends but not have realised I’m disconnected????

It’s like we’ve switched over to autopilot and we’re being taken for a ride. This has happened to me on stage before and it’s horrible!

Now, I’m much more aware of this I can spot the signs and make sure I chose an action that will connect my mind and body together and bring me back into the now. As soon as I do this I feel safer, clearer, more in control and able to manage and cope with stress.

SAVE these 5 tips for finding that mind - body connection again.

1️⃣ Move your body - I’m more of a yoga, qigong fan. 🧘🏻‍♀️ but you might love running, swimming or cycling to feel the reconnect. You do you!

2️⃣ Breathe mindfully - slow and deep.

3️⃣ Walk in nature and relax your eyes to take in a wider panoramic view. (Look up horizon gazing)

4️⃣ Have some screen free time.

5️⃣ Talk about how you’re feeling. See a therapist and learn to know yourself.

Summer + Festivals + Glitter = 🤩

Despite the awful weather we had a great time at a local festival (Marvellous)

I decided in advance that it would be a good night even if it rained. I knew that the first stop was the glitter tent, followed by the bar and then straight to the front of the stage to see the bands. I already knew it would be fun! 🤩

I could have had a different mindset completely, and the day would have been a wash out. 😩
Where your focus goes, your energy flows. ⚡️💕

Focus your attention on the negatives and that’s what you’ll see and experience.

Your mindset is the 🔑 to feeling successful and happy. 😄

What’s weighing you down?

Just stop for a moment and bring your awareness to the extra weight you’re carrying around. I don’t mean physical weight!

I mean the negative past experiences, self doubt and limiting beliefs that are causing your energy, confidence and mindset to be dragged down.

We all have these thoughts and beliefs, we’re human after all.

Here’s a challenge for you…

How about, just for today, you put these heavy, weighty negatives down.

Just for today, you take back the control.

Just for today, acknowledge them instead of ignoring them and then leave them behind as you walk out your front door.

That’s it… mentally pick them up off your shoulders, tell them they’re not coming with you today and then put them down. In a box, on a shelf, in a cupboard or even in the bin!!

Breathe in deeply through your nose… exhale slowly and feel your shoulders relax… they feel lighter now.

Now smile 😊 tell yourself, it’s going to be a great day and off you go.

If after today you felt worse for not carrying them around then the choice is yours, pick them back up and start carrying them again.

If you felt even 1% lighter, cleaner, happier… then repeat this again tomorrow.

If your pile of heavy negatives is quite big then it may be time to start working on them with a trained therapist. Over time you can address each one, process it in a safe place and feel clearer and happier, each and every day.

I’m 44! There I said it.

Yes, I have let my age become a barrier and told myself I can’t do things.

Not any more though. I’ve come to realise that it’s not about your age, it’s your mindset and attitude.

Having a fixed mindset and being firmly rooted in your comfort zone isn’t going to bring you positive changes, opportunities and amazing life experiences.

😳 I’m too old.
😩 I’m too young and no one will take me seriously.
🥺I’ve tried to do this before and it didn’t work out. What’s the point in trying again.
😳There are much better people out there than me.

Being open minded, embracing the good and bad bits and being willing to step into your learning zone (the bit outside your comfort zone) is how you will see positive changes.

If you are a performer/presenter/public speaker (anyone who has a role that requires them to stand up in front of others) and you are struggling with nerves, imposter syndrome, self-doubt and anxiety, then let me reassure you.

You have the skills, talent and confidence already in you. Honestly, you do.
Your self-doubt is over shadowing these amazing parts of you and I can help you to feel like you again. ✨💪🏼

✨ Anything, really is possible ✨

Turning corners and exploring new paths can be life changing. Sometimes the thought of it makes our hearts race. 😳

If you’re thinking about making a big life change and you’re holding yourself back for some reason, I hear you and I can say (from personal experience) it’ll be worth it.

I haven’t looked back and I wouldn’t be where I am today (🇬🇷 ☀️ 🧘🏻‍♀️ ) if I hadn’t made the leap!
