Hands on experience of hooding and coping Antal's beak.

Coping a bird's beak involves trimming and filing the overgrown keratin layer (similar to a human fingernail) to restore its natural shape and function, typically required every six months for raptors in captivity. Using a Dremel tool or files, the procedure removes excess length from the tip and sides while protecting the tongue and avoiding the vascular layer.

Our first walk on Sulham Estate
We are so grateful to have been granted permission to walk on the estate.

The scenery is breathtaking. In the photo you can see Wilders Folly in the distance.

Antal got to really stretch his wings with some really beautiful long flights.

Antal has come on leaps and bounds. The bond so stronger, this amazing Harris hawk has never got lower in weight than 613g he came out of the aviary at 683g. He's been instant on recalls in alsorts locations all the way up to 650's

At 629g today cheeky monkey nicked my hat luckily his finishing piece also worked as a trade off.
