A Little Stretch for You, A Lot of Love for Baby!

Join us for the next block of our popular Mum & Baby Classes this April
We know that getting out of the house with a little one can be challenging; the baby’s on their fifth outfit change, no one can find the wipes and you’ve just noticed a suspicious looking stain on your last clean jumper.

But don’t worry, we’ve got you! Our popular Mum & Baby Classes are designed to be relaxed, welcoming and nurturing for both you and your baby. Come exactly as you are (suspicious stain and all!) - this is a safe, judgement-free space, and we’re here to support your postpartum recovery journey.

➡ Gentle strengthening exercises for you, focussing on pelvic floor, posture, back and core strength.
➡ Sweet and soothing yoga stretches for baby
➡ Songs, sounds and rhythms to engage your little one
➡ Tools to destress and regulate your nervous system
➡ The chance to meet other mums and their babies

These sessions are suitable from 6 weeks post-partum, until your baby is crawling.
Changing/ feeding/ napping is very welcome in these sessions! (Don’t worry Mum, we’ll nudge you awake when class is over!)

We can’t wait to welcome you and your little ones to the studio for the beautiful sessions soon!

Time to Bend Over Backwards…For Yourself

Many of us find backbends physically challenging, but with expert guidance, patience and curiosity, they can be the most energising and uplifting of all the yoga asanas.

Don’t believe us? Come and discover the joy for yourself at our gorgeous upcoming workshop - Mindful Backbending - A Heart Opening Practice with Raili Maripuu

Backbending is about more than just suppleness. It requires a combination of strength, stamina and flexibility. Beyond the physicality, this practice can also be demanding emotionally - opening the chest often feels vulnerable - and that’s where we come in. This nurturing session will help you approach backbends with patience and self-compassion, allowing you to feel safe, confident and supported as you explore this powerful movement sequence.

This workshop will cover:
➡ Back bending using a combination of primary and intermediate series from the Ashtanga yoga sequence.
➡ How to strengthen the back muscles and abdominals.
➡ How to create space in the front body, through the ribcage.
➡ Techniques to help you stay in those ‘difficult’ places and work through them.

Ready for some backbend breakthroughs? Book your space on our Mindful Backbending - A Heart Opening Practice Workshop, today!

Put your best foot forward with our Fabulous Feet Workshop
It’s easy to forget about our feet, we stuff them in socks, and squeeze them in shoes without a second thought. But the reality is feet are a crucial part of a strong body, they form our very foundation.

We’re delighted that exercise therapist and Pilates instructor Joanna Feast, is bringing her popular workshop FABULOUS FEET to Yoga Reading once more. This practical two hour information session will help you realise the importance of looking after your feet, discussing ways in which you can enhance your body’s performance capabilities and prevent bunions, plantar fasciitis and other conditions.

As well as learning tips and techniques during this workshop, there will be plenty of opportunity to try out equipment and ask questions. Joanna will also bring some barefoot/ minimal shoes as this is frequently an area of interest, and every participant will leave with a gift to help support their feet at home!

Discover how to make the most of your feet - we think it’s about time they had some TLC!

Join us and get ready to feel Foot Loose and Fancy Free!

Our Story

We are Yoga Reading. We are Katia and Sophie and Yoga Reading has grown out of our friendship and our total belief in the fact that movement makes you feel better. Every. Single. Time.

As we’ve built Yoga Reading, this belief has been moulded and elevated through our understanding that movement needs to be tailored to your body and your needs – which, guess what, change over time. What we need now in our 40’s is different from what we needed in our 20’s and we know this will continue to change. The skills we have built over the last ten years or so have equipped us with the knowledge of how to support our body’s to be strong and, most importantly, to improve our level of comfort. And this is what we want to share with the Yoga Reading community.

We want to provide the BEST quality teaching and information so that everyone can find the tools and techniques they need to support their busy lives and feel comfortable and strong in their bodies.

We have built a team of teachers to work with us to make sure that there’s a practice on our schedule for everyone. Between us we are skilled in yoga, meditation, injury prevention and reduction, rehabilitation, strength training, anxiety management, standing on your head and being able to sit very still!
