Reminding myself that my work has always been about the bigger picture!

It has always been about Stress management, & promoting well-being, not about one particular modality. More "What do I know that can help this person?".

Unlike most others, I never actually set out to be a masaage therapist, I was boiling the kettle one day & got an overwhelming feeling that I wanted to be a Reflexologist.

I had never even had reflexology myself at that point - The idea came from no-where, but it is the best idea I have ever had!

I have always had an interest in the alternative, particularly Aromatherapy, so when the opportunity arose at the end of my Reflexology course, to study a Complementary therapy diploma, I jumped at it.

That is where massage came in - I needed to learn massage, as part of being an Aromatherapist, then the more I learned, the more I needed to know... & so followed 15 years of working, studying, learning & improving.

Sometimes it is important to remember why you do what you do & where you started from.

For me, it is about treating the cause & not the symptoms - & a large proportion of the time, the cause is stress! "Dis-ease = disease"

My work is, and always has been, about regulating the nervous system, promoting deep relaxation & enhancing well-being. Supporting you through difficult times, with a special interest in pathology.

A review from a lovely lady I treated today with an hours combination of RLD & Traditional Reflexology

Helping to detoxify the body post surgery, & enhance well-being through deep relaxation.

I have a couple of (large), spaces next week.

Monday 12.45
Thursday 11.45

Reflexology, Reflexology Lymph Drainage, Facial Reflexology, Holistic Facial, Signature Facial & Indian Head Massage or a longer combination of any of those.

Or... If anyone would like to let me practice my needling techniques on them, there is a Β£15 fee to cover my costs, in return for relaxation & potential pain relief.

I mean - 30 minutes laying on my treatment couch- I would pay double for that! 🀣

Massage update

It has been another challenging week, including a trip to A&E for an MRI due to suspected spinal nerve compression (Thankfully it isn't that! πŸ™), some personal challenges & a full blown panic attack, the likes of which I have never experienced before.

(I am not asking for sympathy here, I just want to be transparant about why I am still moving appointments around!).

I am still working, but on a reduced time table, with treatments that are easier on my own body, so the option is there, for those I have needed to postpone, to swap your massage for an alternative if you wish.

Although I do appreciate that anyone coming for massage, is usually coming because they are in pain or discomfort themselves! But I won't offer any treatment that I can not perform to 100% for the well-being of my clients.

There is no juicy story, as to how I hurt my back. It appears that an unstable SI joint, suddenly decided enough was enough, with no prior warning.

I thank you all for your patience & understanding & hope to be massaging properly again soon! πŸ™

Its been a tough few weeks & not the best start to 2026 for me, but I am trying to stay positive & focusing on what I CAN do, rather than what I can't do.

I have made the decision not to offer Full Body massage to new client's for now, & I am coming to terms with the thought that it may be that Full on massage is not sustainable for me long term.

I have updated my treatment menu, Including adding an option to have a bespoke Aromatherapy blend encorporated into your Reflexology or Indian Head massage, & some new bespoke packages, with some longer ones coming, hopefully later next week, as my back improves.

Also, next week I have my inspection for my licence to practice dry needling - so hopefully it wont be too much longer before I can start asking for some practice buddies!

For next week, I am still restricted to Reflexology, Facials & Indian Head massage.

Thank you to everyone for being so wonderfully supportive about this, and especially to those of you who have opted to try an alternative treatment, as opposed to cancelling! It has been very touching! xx

My back is feeling like it is on the mend, & I have re-opened the booking system, although only for Reflexology, Facials & Indian Head Massage, for now.

I still have very limited range of movement, and cant physically do any longer massage at the moment.

Thank you to everyone who has agreed to swap from massage to Reflexology or a facial this week, I am hugely grateful & to everyone for being so kind & Re-arranging last week.

I have space tomorrow at 1.30pm & Wednesday at 1pm.

Just a quick update on appointments

My back is still very uncomfortable, & I have unfortunately had to re-schedule the rest of this week, up to and including, Friday.

As a result, I have temporarily suspended the booking system, in order to prioritise those whose appointments I have had to move this week, into the next available slots.

Anyone who is booked in on Saturday- I am trying my very best to be fit enough, as I am very much aware that I have no spare Saturdays to move you to - but I will call it tomorrow, & be in touch if I think it is not going to be in anyone's best interests to work.

I apologise for the inconvenience, but I am sure you all know that I don't re-schedule lightly, I do this only when the value of my treatments will be compromised as I want everyone to have the best possible outcome, which I can not provide if I am not 100%.

Hoping to have the booking system back up & running by Monday! 🀞🀞

In the mean time - enjoy my colouring in! Trying to distract mind from the pain & boredom. My husband said its not too bad for my age! 🀣🀣

🀣 Feeling my age! Thanks for looking after me this last week, since I put my back out!

Didn't ever see the point of slippers before, until I couldn't bend down far enough to put my socks on! πŸ˜ͺ

It is always embarrassing, as a massage therapist to let your clients know that you have royally fcked your own back up - But I well & truly have! - Whilst on holiday ffs!

Thank you for giving me a safe space to F & blind whilst you adjusted me, & strapped me up & for giving me hope that I will be back to work next week.

Thank you to my lovely friends the Charnicks also, for taking my mind of the pain this evening with a few glasses of wine & games of Skyjo! πŸ’–

I have been in touch with everyone whose appointments have been affected- Hoping to be back to work next week as planned, with a morning off to go back to the Chiropractor, but I may need some more time to heal, & will re-schedule as necessary, with as much notice as possible xx

This is your friendly Friday reminder to be kind to yourself! - It is ok if you need to take things slowly, ease yourself in gently.

Did you finish last year feeling exhausted & burnt out?

You said this year would be different right?
So don't start it off on the wrong foot!

When you nourish yourself emotionally & physically, it allows you to function in a deeper level. Ask yourself, "What do YOU need right now?"

✨ A moment of calm
✨ deeper breathing
✨ A warm cup of soothing tea
✨ A treatment that brings you back into tune with yourself.

Whatever it is - Prioritise YOU this year!

I love the fresh feeling of newness that comes with the start of the Year! - That feeling that anything is possible.

I don't make resolutions but it is a good day to set down positive intentions for the Year ahead & make plans.

Have a great First day of the year!

Wishing you all a fabulous evening of celebrations to see out 2025 & May 2026 bring you all Health & happiness!

2025 has been a blur of a year, where I invested heavily in CPD courses to bring you even better results.

QNP in January & February (Quinn Neuropractic Technique), which has helped many of you, especially with lower back pain.

Hands Free Massage, from March - July, which has completely changed my game when it comes to massage, allowing me to work deeper, yet still with no pain to yourself & much less risk of injury to me,

& Finishing August - December with the Entry level course into Western Acupuncture - Which I will be following on with Dry Needling in the early months of 2026.

Thank you all for your support, with my business & also the emotional support you have all given me along the way throughout my courses, which as many of you know, took me hugely out of my comfort zone, due to the extra challenge of staying away from home on a monthly basis - I am 100% a homebird!

So here is to a fabulous 2026 - & I promise - After the dry needling... "No more courses" 🫠 except maybe... 🀣

Wishing you all the best for the New Year! xx
