At this time of year, we love to spoil our incredible team - and what better way than with a pampering kit? We always encourage our carers to take some well-deserved “me time.” They spend their days looking after others, so we want to make sure they look after themselves too. You all truly deserve it!

🎄 It’s officially Christmas time! 🎁

Every December, we love spreading a little festive joy by delivering a special gift to our clients to let them know we are thinking of them this festive season. This year they'll receive delicious chocolate biscuits, a fun puzzle book filled with crosswords, sudoku, and mindful colouring, plus a Christmas card packed with warm wishes from all of us at Home Instead.

Our office team and Care Professionals will be Santa’s little helpers throughout the month, delivering these treats to each client’s home and sharing a touch of Christmas spirit along the way! ✨

The St. Mary's tree festival in Henley was officially opened today by the Mayor of Henley, Councillor Tom Buckley. There are some lovely trees there, so treat yourself to a few hours in Henley - it's looking beautifully festive around the high street - and pop in to view them.

It’s a wonderfully festive week here at Home Instead! 🎄✨

Every year we’re proud to sponsor Christmas trees at local tree festivals in Maidenhead—and this year, we’re excited to add Henley to the list too! These festivals are a fantastic way to get into the Christmas spirit while supporting some truly worthwhile causes.

This year, proceeds from the St. Luke’s Tree Festival in Maidenhead will go to their chosen charity, Alzheimer’s Dementia Support (). 💜

All the trees on display are real, filling the churches with that amazing Christmas tree scent - worth the visit on its own! Both venues are beautiful spaces to kick off the festive season, and the decorations are always so creative and inspiring.

Our theme this year, as you can see from the image, is “Homes filled with love and memories...supported by caring hearts”. This we think depicts Home Instead so well - our clients homes filled with love and memories and our dedicated Care Professionals giving their hearts at every visit. 🏡❤️ We will share pictures of the finished trees later this week.

Last Thursday, I had the absolute pleasure of joining the wonderful ladies at the Twyford & Wargrave Women’s Group for lunch. I delivered our dementia information session, and they were so engaged - asking thoughtful questions and showing real interest in the topic.

Everyone received one of our Home Instead information booklets, packed with advice and tips for supporting a loved one living with dementia. We also handed out our winter puzzle books, filled with festive crosswords, sudoku, and mindful colouring - perfect for these darker evenings.

A huge thank you to all the lovely ladies in the group. I always enjoy spending time with them, and I was especially delighted to be their guest speaker this month, talking about a subject I’m truly passionate about. 💜

A Fond Farewell to Gillian!

Last night we celebrated Gillian, our wonderful Recruitment Manager, who after 5 incredible years with Home Instead is heading off on her next adventure - retirement! She has done a truly fantastic job and has been such an important part of our team. So many wonderful Care Professionals we have supporting clients in their own homes were discovered by Gillian - we have lots to thank her for. 💜

It was lovely to see so many people come along to the pub for her leaving drinks to wish her well - and just as touching were all the visits, gifts and messages she received throughout the week. Every single one meant a lot to her.

Gillian, we will miss you dearly. Thank you for everything you’ve brought to Home Instead - your dedication and hard work, warmth, saucy sense of humour and some pretty good Netflix recommendations. 💚🥰😇

This week, we had the honour and joy of celebrating our client John’s 100th birthday. John has been part of the Home Instead family for 10 years. For the first eight, we supported him in his own home, and now - while he’s living in a care home - we still visit him weekly to take him out for a coffee or a trip to his favourite garden centres.

John’s family made a wonderful fuss of him, and it’s easy to see why. He’s a firm favourite among our team - always kind, always smiling, and always grateful to those who support him.

In fact, he’s so well loved that seven members of our team, past and present, joined him to celebrate this incredible milestone.

It has been a true privilege to support John over the years and to see him reach his remarkable 100th birthday. Here’s to many more happy years with this lovely gentleman.
