Diabetes is increasingly affecting younger people and can have serious implications during pregnancy if not identified early.

We’re pleased to feature in The Sound Doctor’s video on early onset diabetes and pregnancy, highlighting why awareness, early testing and timely support are so important.

If you’re experiencing symptoms such as increased thirst, frequent urination, fatigue or unexplained weight loss, or if you have risk factors including a family history of diabetes, raised BMI or previous gestational diabetes, speak to your GP practice about a simple blood test.

Early diagnosis allows us to put the right support and treatment in place to protect your long-term health and, in pregnancy, the health of your baby.

Don’t ignore the signs. Contact your GP practice to ask about a diabetes check.

Don’t wait to get checked.

If you notice any new or unusual symptoms, have a family history of cancer, or have been invited for screening, it’s important not to delay.

• contact us if you have any concerns or symptoms
• let us know if you have a family history of cancer

As your GP practice, we’re here to listen and help you take the next step.

Love your heart — and your s*xual health too ❤️

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, it’s a good time to think about s*xual health screening. Many s*xually transmitted infections (STIs), including chlamydia, often have no symptoms, so testing is the only way to know for sure.

Regular s*xual health screening helps protect you and your partner(s). Local NHS s*xual health services offer free, confidential care for all ages, including:
• s*xual health screening for HIV, syphilis, gonorrhoea and chlamydia
• testing and treatment if you have symptoms
• PrEP and PEP for HIV prevention
• HPV and hepatitis vaccinations
• contraception and emergency contraception
• support after s*xual assault

You don’t need symptoms to get checked — and walk-in and appointment options are available locally.

🚧 Building Works at London Road – From 23rd February

From 23rd February, building works will be taking place on the top floor of our London Road surgery to create an additional clinical room. The work is expected to last approximately 4–6 weeks.

During this time, you may experience some noise and minor disruption. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding while we make improvements to enhance our services for patients.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sexual abuse and s*xual violence can affect anyone.

If you’ve experienced s*xual abuse or s*xual violence, you are not alone — and support is available. What happened is not your fault, and you deserve care, understanding and help at your own pace.

Support can include:
• confidential medical care and advice
• emotional and psychological support
• help with reporting, if and when you choose
• specialist services that put your needs first

As your GP practice, we can help you find the right support and talk through your options in a safe, confidential space. You can speak to us at any time, or access specialist services directly.

If you’re not ready to talk to someone you know, confidential support is available through local s*xual assault referral centres and specialist charities.

Reaching out is a step towards care and recovery — and you don’t have to take that step alone.

‘I Test.’ is the national campaign for National HIV Testing Week, and it’s about making HIV testing a normal part of looking after your health.

As your GP practice, we want to support our patients to make informed, confident choices about s*xual health. HIV testing is quick, confidential and free, and it’s the only way to know your status. Many people can live with HIV without symptoms, which is why regular testing matters.

By saying “I test”, you’re choosing to:
• look after your own health
• protect your partners
• support safer s*x and reduce stigma

You can get tested at s*xual health clinics, and if you need care or treatment, support is available through NHS services.
