I know it’s not Black Friday yet, heck, it’s not even Friday yet!

But when there’s money to be saved, there’s no time to waste!

Started back running with the toller this morning.

Listen carefully and you can hear me dying in the background - whereas the toller is just cruising along 😂

Starting back after an injury or a long period off can be daunting.

What I often tell my patients is, “what you think is easy, take that and make it even easier.”

We often want to jump back in but unfortunately this can lead to injury (again).

Tuesday I had to have little op on my hip.

I’m not the greatest with needles but the staff at the hospital were amazing with the blubbering wreck they were presented with.

I do have one complaint though.

As I was laying on the anaesthetic table, they were playing Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On.

“What a bloody song to die to.” I thought.

And yes, I know the chances of dying were slim to none but that is where my panicked little brain took me.

I was telling the husband this story and he told me not to worry, if I had died he would have made sure to play the song at my funeral as he knows I would haunt him for that and he would never have to be without me.

Which was rather sweet I guess.

Ah this brings back some memories.

It’s not you, it’s me.

Part of my treatment yesterday means that my immune system may potentially be dampened for a few days.

So rather than risk catching germs, I’m back to wearing face masks as I’d like to keep helping you lovely lot and if I’m ill, then I can’t!

Radio silence from me today.

I’ve got to pop into the hospital for a minor operation, and as much you would probably love to see me off my face from anaesthesic, it’s not massively professional! 🙈🤣

Today we had to say goodbye to the toddlers chicken, Fluffy.

I was hoping that she was just need some meds and she would be back to her usual perky self but unfortunately she had a large mass inside her.

The toddler was with me on this final vet trip and it’s been emotional, it’s his first pet he’s lost.

But I have to thank the staff at Johnson and Scott Ltd - Veterinary Clinic who were so caring towards the toddler, giving him hugs and even printed him out a little book we can fill in to remember her.

With all the bad press that vets get for being money hungry corporations, I can honestly say they just care about helping the animals and their people as much as possible - so if you are looking for a vet, I really do recommend!

Now I’m off to console the toddler (and probably allow him extra time on his switch) before I head off for the evening shift.

Starting off half term with a trip to the garden centre!
