Behind the scenes of being Laura - someone who preaches nervous system regulation day in, day out 🙌:

I don’t have a perfectly calm mind and body, I just know how to respond to it more compassionately.

Haha, I'm so used to the "ugh" 😆

Your nervous system doesn’t respond to criticism. It responds to safety. You can't shame yourself into regulation. Laura

***And we're off!***

Day #1 of half term.

May the weather gods hear our humble plea for at least a sprinkle of sunshine, just enough to keep the kids entertained without us needing to remortgage the house for activities.

Remember, a change in routine can rattle the nervous system (theirs and ours!). If things get wobbly, chaotic, or just a bit too loud, take a moment and breathe it out. We’ve got this my lovelies,

Little reminder for today... you don’t need a breakdown to justify support.

You are allowed to prioritise your needs before things fall apart (I know for many of you this feels weird or even wrong!).

Valentine’s Day can be about romance, but it can also be about:

Letting yourself be on your own side.
Letting yourself rest instead of perform.
Letting yourself be loved without earning it.

Many people I work with are very good at giving love, but maybe less comfortable receiving it.
Or believing they deserve it when they’re not “at their best”.

Today feels like a good day to remember that you don’t have to be fixed, confident, or healed to be worthy of love - including your own!

How might today change if you treated yourself like someone you care about?

Sending lot's of love to you all, Laura

Normalising mental health also means admitting that sometimes you don’t know why you feel bad. And that’s OK. Have you been pressuring yourself to explain it perfectly?

People sometimes apologise to me for crying in sessions.
I say it to them and I'll say it to you now - you don’t need to apologise at all.
My room is literally for that.

Your emotions are there to be felt, Laura
