I’m delighted that the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) are raising awareness of acupuncture’s role in supporting mental wellbeing.
Having worked previously within the NHS as a CBT therapist, I’ve seen first-hand how stretched the system can be, and that while talking therapy can be invaluable, it isn’t the right approach for everyone.
For some, putting feelings into words can feel impossible, while for others, repeatedly talking things through can reinforce unhelpful patterns of rumination.
This is where traditional acupuncture comes in…it recognises the interconnected nature of the mind and body and uses carefully selected points to restore balance across both.
