How to care for a child with a fever 🤒

Step 1) Take their temperature with a thermometer.

Step 2) Keep them dressed in light clothing and use a light blanket only.

Step 3) Offer regular small sips of water.

Step 4) Use children’s paracetamol or ibuprofen if needed.

Step 5) Watch for danger signs (e.g. rash, stiff neck, difficulty breathing, persistent vomiting).

Step 6) Seek medical advice if their temperature is within the high category, if they have had a fever for more than 5 days or if they are acting unusual.
