Survive and Revive

Survive and Revive Survival courses in Cornwall. We specialise in wilderness bushcraft training & survival experiences.

After spending many years in the wilderness teaching bushcraft and survival skills and seeing the impact wild places have on people’s mental health, Survive and Revive was born. Something special happens to people when they reconnect with the natural world in meaningful ways. Wherever hardship occurs, priorities shift and survival is king. It allows you to strip away the responsibilities and pressures of the modern world, just for a short while; focus on the now, exist, breathe and take stock. Neatly package up your insecurities, your self-doubt and discard them. Go back to your people and your village revived, knowing that you are doing your best and that against all the odds, you are surviving.

Weekend Survival Course complete, and what a weekend it was!

Over two days the group learned how to build shelters, light fires, cook over open fire, use knives safely, navigate through the landscape, and live comfortably outdoors with simple equipment.

But more importantly, confidence grew, new friendships were made, and everyone proved to themselves that they are far more capable than they probably thought when they arrived on Friday evening.

There’s something very simple and very satisfying about fire, good food, a shelter you built yourself, and a group of people sharing the experience together.

These weekends are never really just about survival skills, they’re also about confidence, resilience, problem solving, and spending time outdoors in a way most people rarely get to anymore.

Massive thanks to a brilliant group this weekend.

Our next Weekend Survival Course will be running in 9th -11th October.

Hope you can make it!

This last few weeks I spent some quality time learning how to make baskets with the wonderful .

Over several workshops we were taught the whole process, building up our skills and our baskets week by week. It was slow, patient, and very mindful - just what was needed, some light through the months of darkness and rain.

There’s something hugely satisfying about turning natural materials into useful things. Having time to slow down and enjoy the process rather than rushing the outcome has been a real luxury.

I am 100% hooked and cannot recommend Lins courses highly enough!

We’re EXTREMELY excited to finally announce our first ever Sunrise Cornwall CIC Open Day, taking place on Saturday 16th May at the beautiful The Arborist Cafe at Killiow Estate (the old golf driving range) in Playing Place, just outside Truro, from 10am - 6pm.

The day will also bring together a range of fantastic local mental health organisations, creating an opportunity for people to learn more about the support available within our community. While the event will have a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere, there will also be opportunities for supportive conversations and signposting with the teams from each organisation.

Throughout the day you’ll have the chance to experience a taste of some of the events, workshops and activities that Sunrise Cornwall CIC offer to adults affected by su***de with workshops from Drums4fun CIC, Survive and Revive, Arts and Crafts, Yoga, Walks and so much more. There will also be live music (from 4pm).

We hope you can join us to learn more about the support we provide for adults affected by loss through su***de. Why not make a day of it and enjoy the wonderful selection of food and drink available at the Arborist Café too?

The day is FAMILY FRIENDLY and completely FREE to attend, we'll be releasing more details very soon so keep your eyes peeled 💛

NB. Well behaved Dogs welcome, but MUST be kept on leads at all times due to roaming deer within the Estate.

Who ate my Bagel?!?

Tracking is such a wonderful pursuit, there is always lots to find and discover on your local patch and it’s great to monitor a track trap over time.

Last Spring I dropped my 🥯 whilst checking this particular trap and “Who ate my bagel?” was born!

This series has been really fun to film - follow for Episode 2!
