We’re incredibly proud of Robyn 💙

She began her journey in care at just 18, and through hard work, compassion and determination, has grown from frontline care into a Regional Manager supporting teams across Cornwall.

Robyn’s story is a powerful reminder that care is not just a job, it’s a career with real progression for those with the right values and commitment.

Considering home care this year?

For many families, it starts with a quiet question , “Would a little help make life easier?”

Home care isn’t about giving up independence. It’s about the right support, at the right time, from people who genuinely care, so life at home can continue with confidence and dignity.

At Alexandra’s Community Care, we have these conversations every day. If you’re simply thinking things through, we’re always happy to listen. 💙

💙 𝐀𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦, 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬💙

After the extreme weather brought by Storm Goretti last night and today, we wanted to take a moment to say just how proud we are of our teams across Alexandra’s Community Care.

With fallen trees, blocked roads, power cuts and limited signal, it was a long and challenging night for many. But throughout it all, the focus stayed the same — making sure clients were safe and supported, and that carers were able to get home safely too.

What we saw was people stepping up for one another, thinking on their feet, and doing whatever it took to make sure no one was left without care.

Some of the many acts of commitment we witnessed include:

🌳 A carer climbing through fallen trees after being cut off, determined to reach her client

🚶‍♀️ A carer parking up, climbing over a huge fallen tree and walking into Malpas village to ensure a morning visit went ahead

🚙 Team members heading out late at night to rescue a stranded carer, then staying on the phone through the night to make sure everyone got home safely

📞 On-call, overnight and management teams handling relentless calls, difficult decisions and welfare checks with calm, compassion and care

🤝 Colleagues with 4x4 vehicles stepping in to support carers and clients wherever needed

This wasn’t just one or two people — it was everyone pulling together. Care staff in the field. On-call teams. Managers. Support staff. People guiding, checking in, reassuring and problem-solving through the night.

We could not be prouder - this is what teamwork, resilience and person-centred care look like in real life.
