The summer is here and that means ice lollies and ice creams! Finding an iced lolly that has as little refined sugar as possible is difficult. A mini Magnum has 16 grams of sugar - that is nearly half of your sugar allowance for the day! So I've made my own with no refined sugar! Take a look at these beauts. Made with a can of coconut milk, 3/4 of small pineapple and 2 tbsps of raw honey! They are absolutely delicious and take literally minutes.

I juiced the pineapple but you could also use a ‘bullet’ or blend the pineapple. Add the juice (and maybe pulp) to the coconut milk and honey and whizz in a blender. Couldn’t be simpler.
The recipe is versatile, instead of pineapple you could use mango or papaya or strawberries. The effect is a creamy yet refreshing ice lolly.

Enjoy, I can’t wait for mine to be ready!

So this week, I’ve been mainly focusing on how to replenish my liver and speed up the detoxification process after a bank holiday weekend of excess! So here are my big top five tips to support your liver:-

1. Many of you will know that having a large mug of hot water with the juice of half a lemon is a great way to start your day but adding ginger will give this drink an anti-inflammatory kick. So you are not tempted by coffee first thing you could make a flask up when going to bed so that it’s ready first thing.
2. Drinking dandelion coffee.
3. Eating lots of foods that do tremendous good for the liver, examples are avocado, broccoli, asparagus and watermelon. Watermelon makes a great alternative to an ice lolly in this heat!
4. Taking milk thistle. Some of you may do this after a heavy weekend but your liver comes under strain from more than just alcohol. Drugs both prescribed and over the counter including paracetamol and ibuprofen, parabens (check the ingredients in your personal care and cosmetics) plus ci******es and salt all take their toll on your liver’s ability to function effectively. Therefore taking milk thistle every day will deliver benefits to your overall sense of well-being.
5. Getting this body moving! Taking some gentle exercise causes us to sweat and generate more urine, encouraging liver activity and stimulating the gut to get rid of waste products, all of which can help to detoxify your body.
