Here's to another event packed week here at WCNH! We celebrated Chinese New Year with making dragon biscuits, eating Chinese food and having a lot of fun! 🐲🐉We celebrated a Birthday with cake and singing! Time is flying fast here at WCNH and we have been busy as usual. The residents are kept engaged and happy with activities like arts and crafts, lovely manicures, sensory activities, building and creating, music, armchair exercises and many more. Every resident receives tailored person-centred care and activities to suit their abilities and personal preferences. We also had two Birthdays which were celebrated accordingly. Sensory activities play a vital role in promoting and maintaining mental health and well-being in our care home, with emphasis placed on engaging with our residents on one to one basis in their rooms as well as in our lounges. Sensory mats, different sounds, lights, painting, different board games and sometimes just a gentle chat, makes a huge difference in their lives and promotes calm, peace and emotional support. Family visits are equally important, bringing a lot of joy and happiness.
On a different note, members of staff had their trial run this Saturday in preparation for the official Walk for Alzeheimer Society next month. Well done to everyone who took part.

Happy New Year! 2026 it's here...May the new year bring good health, peace and joy in our hearts.
Thank you for all the staff here who makes every day special to our residents. Your dedication and resilience is recognised and appreciated. Thank you to the families and friends of the residents,who visited us during the year and showed us their support and gratitude. 🥂🎉

During the Christmas festive period, our lovely chef, Almira and the kitchen assistants worked tirelessly to produce delicious and nutritional meals for our residents and their families. On Christmas Day we had a traditional turkey roast meal and salmon en-croute and on Boxing Day, gammon in honey with cauliflower cheese and bubble and squeek and roast pine nut pie! Of course topped up with wine and mince pies!🥂🥧 Special thanks to the whole team who made Christmas time special and a happy experience for the residents and their families!👏🎉
