South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) is developing a new E-learning package in line with the Oliver McGowan Learning Disabilities and Autism Code of Practice. This package aims to give our staff a better understanding of the needs and experiences of people living with Learning Disabilities and Autism, so they can provide person-centred care every time.
We are looking for people who live with, or care for someone with, a Learning Disability or Autism to get involved by:
• Taking part in filmed interviews
• Contributing to the planning of the E-learning package
• Reviewing the final content
Even if you do not want to appear on film, there are still opportunities to have your voice heard and shape the learning.

Next steps:
The project needs to be completed for the new financial year (from 6th April 2026). If you are interested in taking part or would like to find out more, please contact engagementteam@secamb.nhs.uk for a friendly, no-pressure conversation.

Surrey County Council is consulting on updates to its Home to School and Post-16 Travel Assistance policies for 2026/27. We value your feedback and support in promoting the consultation to families and relevant partners.

Key updates:
• Under-16 policy clarifications: Nearest school definition and evidence requirements for non-nearest school applications.
• FSM change from September 2026: FSM eligibility expands under Universal Credit, but “extended rights” to free travel retain the current low-income threshold and distance criteria.
• SEND/EOTAS/AP: Case-by-case assessment, with AP registration status determining whether standard eligibility applies or EOTAS principles are used.
• PSVAR compliance: All contracted coaches must be accessible; spare seats for purchase may be limited.
• Post-16: Updated annual contributions and extended ITA mileage bands (up to 50 miles).

Consultation details:
Dates: Wednesday 21 January 2026 to 23:59 on Tuesday 17 February 2026.
Consultation page: https://surrey-county-council.civilspace.io/en/projects/home-to-school-policy-updates-under-16-post-16
Accessibility: Easy Read, large print and screen-reader versions will be provided; if any are delayed, they will be added during the consultation.
