Activities include, music, dance, art, drama, cooking, digital skills and much more. Dayspace is part of Millsted Care, which is a family-run company providing person-centred residential homes and day services in Surrey. We specialise in working with adults with a learning disability and our passion is to see each person that we work with develop their individual potential. There's so much more to pumpkins than carved faces and pies - as our lovely Millsted Care residents found out the other week when making decorations for their autumn party! From flower vases to ceiling banners, we're loving the ingenuity of their creations. What a fantastic, colourful celebration backdrop! 🎃

Last week, we celebrated . So not only did our Dayspace venues smell absolutely incredible as the Bakespace teams cooked up a storm with their Matar Paneer curries, but our Createspace sessions also produced some amazing tie dye art using the popular curry spice, turmeric!

We really do have such fun in our Dayspace sessions. But don’t just take our word for it… here’s a little video from one of our recent Thursday Dancespace sessions at Warlingham, showing their amazing dance to ‘You’re Welcome’ from Moana. And our fantastic attendees learned the dance to the entire song in just two weeks - we're super impressed!

Our Millsted Care residents had a fantastic day taking part in the Quality Street Fair, a vibrant community event celebrating local gardening and produce, with our friends at Redhill.

One of the highlights was the flowers, plants, vegetables, and fruits competition, where we proudly entered our home-grown vegetables to compete for a prize.

All our service users attended the fair and got involved by voting in the competition, making it a truly inclusive and engaging experience. The atmosphere was lively, with music, activities, and plenty of smiles throughout the day!

After a busy and enjoyable afternoon, we wrapped up the celebration with a delicious roast dinner at Toby Carvery – the perfect way to end a day full of fun and community spirit.

On Saturday, our Millsted Care residents enjoyed celebrating Onam, an annual harvest and cultural festival from the Indian state of Kerala, marking the homecoming of prosperity and joy. Onam is known for its vibrant cultural events, delicious vegetarian feast, and traditional games – just perfect for the lovely people we support!

Condensing the ten-day festival into one, our celebration began with fun traditional games to get everyone together in the festive spirit, followed by a grand feast served on banana leaves, staying true to Keralan customs. After the meal, our residents participated in an art session centred around Onam themes, adding a creative and cultural touch to our day.

We think you’ll agree from these photos that we had a wonderful time – and the tastiest lunch! 😋

We think that the people we support are pretty awesome. Some have been with us since Dayspace first opened, others have joined our sessions more recently. But across all our day services, the thing that makes Dayspace special is the wonderful bunch of learning-disabled adults who bring joy to our lives every day. So, we thought it about time we introduced some of them and shared some of their achievements and standout moments.

We’re marking Heritage Week here at Dayspace. And not only are our Createspace sessions producing some fantastic castle themed pictures and sculptures, but our fabulous Bakespace teams are rustling up these delicious Heritage tomato tarts! Don’t they look amazing? (We can confirm they taste as good as they look too!) 🍅
