Does taking care of yourself come naturally to you? Can you do one thing today that’s says “I’m important too”. Could be something as simple as not skipping breakfast, getting a good nights sleep, drinking more water or getting round to making that appointment?

Did you know your body has its very own in-built de-stressing mechanism? 😱

It’s called the ✨ VAGUS NERVE ✨

The vagus nerve is the most influential nerve in our parasympathetic nervous system, which oversees a vast array of crucial bodily functions, including control of mood, immune response, digestion, breathing and heart rate. It is the primary pathway that your gut and brain communicate through!

When we stimulate the vagus nerve, it sends a message to our bodies that it’s time to relax, de-stress and go into repair and recover mode 🛌

There are a number of different things we can do to stimulate our vagus nerve such as:

✨ Singing🎤
✨ Cold showers 💦
✨ Yoga and exercise 🏃‍♀️
✨ Deep breathing and meditation
✨ Social connectedness 👭
✨ Probiotics
✨ Laugh often 😂
✨ Try reflexology 👣
