WE ARE THE PROOF

We are the proof that recovery is possible ✨🧡

Behind every addiction is a person who is struggling, hurting, and often deeply confused 💔

Addiction is not simply bad choices or a lack of willpower. It’s an illness, an allergy of the body and an obsession of the mind.

It’s the mental obsession that won’t switch off 🧠
The physical pull that feels impossible to break
The chaos and heartbreak it brings into everyday life

At Archway Recovery, we are a peer led, lived experience Christian recovery community 🤍💜
We’ve lived this. We understand it from the inside, not just how it looks on the outside.

And because of that, we don’t judge it.

What we offer is simple. A safe, welcoming space where you can come exactly as you are 🫶🧡
No pressure, no expectations, nothing to prove.

We know walking through the door for the first time can feel hard. You won’t be pushed, and you won’t be put on the spot.

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”
Isaiah 40:29 ✝️💜

When you walk in, you’ll meet people who understand and won’t judge you. You’ll be welcomed into a recovery community built on unity 🤝 where people genuinely care.

You won’t be doing this on your own. You’ll be supported, encouraged, and guided by people who have been there. 💜

You’ll be connected, not just on a Wednesday, but throughout the week with others walking the same path, including our WhatsApp community 📱💬

Whether you’re struggling yourself, or carrying the weight of someone you love, you will be met with understanding, care, and compassion 🤍

📍 Wednesday
🕔 5pm to 7pm
📍 Salvation Army, Windsor Street, Rhyl

You don’t have to speak. You can just come in, have a brew ☕ and sit among people who understand.

This is a place where recovery is real 🙏

Together, we can recover 🧡💜

✨ Archway Team Spotlight | Conor 7 Years ✨

This week we are incredibly proud to celebrate Conor’s 7 years of continued sobriety 💙🧡

Conor is in recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction, and his life today is a powerful testimony of transformation, restoration, and faith.

There was a time when life looked very different. Conor was living in a bedsit in the West End of Rhyl, at one point facing homelessness, feeling hopeless and defeated by addiction, having lost everything that once mattered.

But 7 years ago, something changed.

Conor went into detox and rehab, and began a new journey in a recovery house and community in Bangor. Through a 12 step program and a growing faith in God, his life began to be restored and transformed.

Today, Conor lives a completely different life. One marked by purpose, service, and faith. 🙏

He is now an assistant pastor at Kimmel Bay Church, a husband, a father, a friend, and a brother. He is also studying for a degree in theology and continues to grow in his walk with God.

Conor is a co founder of Archway Recovery, with a heart to reach those still struggling and suffering with addiction. His passion for people and recovery is at the centre of everything we do.

He serves tirelessly in both the recovery and church community, always on hand to support others, reaching out, connecting, and walking alongside those in need. He is also a sponsor within a 12 step fellowship, helping guide other men through their own recovery journeys. 🤝

Outside of this, Conor enjoys running, playing football, and supporting Manchester United ⚽

But more than anything, Conor is a man whose heart has been transformed. A man who now gives back what was freely given to him, selflessly serving others with compassion, humility, and love.

Conor is not just sober, he is living a life restored. ✨

He is proof that no matter how far someone has fallen, there is always hope. That God restores, rebuilds, and brings new life where there once was none.

📖 “He restores my soul; He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” – Psalm 23:3

Conor, we thank you for your service, your dedication, and your heart.

Congratulations on your 7 years 💙
All glory to God 🙏

With love from all of us at Archway Recovery 🧡

✨ Archway Team Spotlight | Corey 18 Months ✨

This week we are so proud to celebrate Corey’s 18 months of continued sobriety 💙🧡

Corey is in recovery from co***ne addiction, and his life today is a powerful example of what recovery can do.

There was a time when life was chaotic, restless, and unmanageable. But 18 months ago, Corey made a decision to become open, honest, and willing… and everything began to change.

Today, Corey lives with peace, freedom, and serenity. 🙏

Corey is a valued member of our Archway Recovery team. He helps facilitate sessions, welcomes newcomers, and gives his time selflessly to support others. He is also a sponsor within a 12 step fellowship, walking alongside other men in their recovery journey. 🤝

He has rebuilt relationships with his family, become a reliable employee, and is known as a loyal, kind, and caring friend.

His recovery is deeply rooted in his faith. Corey attends Bible study and is part of the worship team at Kimmel Bay Church, using his voice to serve and glorify God. 🎶

In recovery, Corey has also found love and is building a life grounded in truth, faith, and purpose.

Corey is a lovable, bubbly, and humorous young man with a true heart for Jesus. His dedication to service is clear in everything he does.

Corey isn’t just free from co***ne, he is living a transformed life. ✨

He is proof that no matter how chaotic life once was, peace is possible and freedom is real.

If you’re struggling right now, please know this. What Corey has found is available to you too. 🤍

📖 “The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.” – Psalm 29:11

Corey, we are so proud of you.
Congratulations on your 18 months 💙

✨ Archway Team Spotlight | Louie 6 Months ✨

This week we are so proud to celebrate Louie’s 6 months of sobriety 💜🧡

Louie is in recovery from cannabis addiction, and her journey is a powerful reminder that recovery is real.

Louie first came into recovery over a year ago. There were moments of struggle and relapse, but she didn’t stay there.

She came back.
She got honest.
She became willing.

And everything began to change.

What once brought chaos, emotional heaviness, and disconnection has now been replaced with peace, clarity, and purpose.

Today, Louie is living a full and active life without cannabis. 💫
She enjoys boxing 🥊, fitness and the gym, and is part of a house group Bible study, continuing to grow in her faith and relationship with God. 📖

Louie is a valued part of our Archway team. She facilitates sessions, reaches out to newcomers, and is often one of the first to warmly welcome people, especially women, helping them feel safe and not alone. 🤍
She is always hands on, serving wherever needed and taking part in all that we do.

She is a devoted mum, a college student, and part of Kimmel Bay Church.

Louie isn’t just staying sober, she is living transformed. ✨

She is proof that relapse is not the end, and that coming back can change everything.

If you’re struggling right now, please hear this. What Louie has found is available to you too. 🤍

📖 “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9

Louie, we are so proud of you.
Congratulations on your 6 months 💜

Thank you for showing what recovery looks like in real life.

🌸 International Women’s Day Archway Recovery🌸

Today we celebrate the incredible women who are the heart of our Archway Recovery community.

On this International Women’s Day we want to honour and recognise the amazing women in our recovery community.

Women who have walked through addiction and found a new way of life.
Women who stand beside husbands, children, friends and loved ones battling addiction.
Women who show courage, compassion and strength every single day.

Behind the scenes there are women quietly showing up week after week listening, encouraging, praying, supporting and helping others find hope again.

Today we recognise the courage of women in recovery and the strength of the women who stand beside them.

To every woman fighting for recovery.
To every woman supporting someone she loves.
To every woman who walks through our doors searching for hope.

You are seen.
You are valued.
You are appreciated.

Their strength helps others believe recovery is possible.

And to the woman who may still be struggling today there is hope.

“God is within her, she will not fall.”
Psalm 46:5

With love and gratitude,
From all of us at Archway Recovery

🌸 Happy International Women’s Day to all the women in recovery and the women who stand beside them. 🙏

✨ This Wednesday at Archway Recovery – An Evening of Real Recovery ✨

23 years sober.

This week we are honoured to welcome Patrick as he speaks about his journey from alcoholism to long term recovery.

Before 2003 his life included prison sentences, serious ill health and relapse. He tried to stop and could not. He felt trapped in a cycle he could not break.

In desperation he walked into a 12 step fellowship. A recovered man sponsored him and showed him a clear programme of action.

With willingness, honesty and support his life began to change.

It was not quick. It was not easy. But it was real.
And it has lasted.

Patrick is now a born again Christian and was baptised alongside his wife, something that once would have felt impossible.

Today he stands as living proof that recovery and restoration are possible.

This will be an honest and open evening with space to listen, reflect and connect.

If you feel curious, tired, confused or stuck, there is hope.

“I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,” declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 30:17

FOUR YEARS SOBER 🎉

This week we celebrate something powerful 🙌

Brian is celebrating 4 years of continued sobriety from alcoholism.

Four years ago his life was unmanageable, lonely, dark and unbearable. After more than 20 years battling alcoholism, he knew the torment of wanting to stop, trying to stop and relapsing. Early recovery was not easy. There were setbacks. There were painful lessons. But he refused to give up 💪

Today Brian stands four years sober ✨

An ex RAF serviceman who once struggled in silence now shows up every week at Archway Recovery without fail, giving back what was freely given to him. He facilitates sessions, sponsors other men through the 12 Steps, works alongside probation and is studying to become a counsellor.

Brian is now a born again Christian, faithfully serving at his local church in Kinmel Bay ⛪ leading Bible studies and prayer meetings and helping other men find hope where once there was despair.

His life is living proof of this promise:

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has gone, the new is here!”
2 Corinthians 5:17 ✝️

Four years ago he felt broken.
Today he lives in freedom 🕊️

If you are reading this and feel stuck, tired or defeated, please know this… change is possible. Recovery is real. A new way of life is available 🤍

We are so proud of you, Brian 🙏
With love and respect from all of us at Archway Recovery ❤️

🌟 February Celebration at Archway Recovery 🌟

This month we are so proud to shine a light on one of our own 💜

Tommy is celebrating 12 months of continued sobriety.
One full year of a brand new way of life ✨

Just a year ago, Tommy walked through the doors of Archway Recovery, encouraged and maybe slightly persuaded by his mum to come along. Life had become an unmanageable mix of chaos, unhappiness and the exhausting cycle of addiction. Like many who first arrive, he came through the door unsure, reluctant and feeling pretty hopeless.

Tommy now laughs about how he did not really want to come that first night, but he was desperate enough to try. And thank God he did 🙏

From the beginning, Tommy showed real willingness and honesty. He accepted support, stayed connected, kept an open mind and allowed something new to begin. The change we have witnessed since has been incredible.

✨ A miracle has taken place.
🌱 A life has been rebuilt.
🧡 Hope has been restored.

Over the past year Tommy has rebuilt relationships, restored his health and created a life filled with purpose and stability. He even trained for and ran the Chester Marathon with his mum to raise money for Archway Recovery.

Today we see a different Tommy. A man who is present, dependable and rebuilding the relationships that matter most. He is showing up for his family, his work and those around him with honesty, care and consistency. The quiet transformation in his character and the way he lives today speaks for itself 💜

And if you know Tommy, you will know he has not lost that personality.
A natural joker with a warm personality who loves a chat and brings laughter wherever he goes. He now welcomes newcomers through our doors and helps others feel at ease 💬
The same man who once did not want to walk in now stands inside helping others do the same.

Recovery has not only transformed Tommy’s life but also his heart. He is now a born again Christian with a deep passion for reading his Bible and the Scriptures. His growing faith and love for God has become a powerful foundation in his new way of living.

Tommy is now part of the Archway team, supporting others and showing by his life that recovery truly is possible.

If you’re struggling right now, please know this. It can start with simply walking through the door. 🧡

📍 Salvation Army, Windsor Street, Rhyl
🕰️ Wednesdays 5pm to 7pm

We are so proud of you Tommy 💜
Your journey is proof that no one is too far gone and it is never too late.

Recovery works.
Lives can change.
And together, we can recover. 🧡

“He lifted me out of the pit of despair and set my feet on solid ground.”
Psalm 40:2🙏✝️
