World Health Day (7 April) shines a light on the health issues that shape our everyday lives — from public health challenges to mental wellbeing and the inequalities that still hold many people back. It’s a global reminder that good health isn’t a privilege, it’s a right that everyone should be able to access.

Let's start conversations for fairer and healthier communities!
-------------
Mae Diwrnod Iechyd y Byd (7 Ebrill) yn taflu goleuni ar y materion iechyd sy’n llywio ein bywydau o ddydd i ddydd - o heriau iechyd cyhoeddus i lesiant meddyliol a’r anghyfiawnderau sy’n parhau i atal llawer o bobl. Mae’n ein hatgoffa yn fyd-eang nad braint yw iechyd da, ond mae’n hawl y dylai pawb gael mynediad ato.

Beth am ddechrau sgyrsiau am gymunedau tecach ac iachach!

World Autism Awareness Day (2 April) is a moment to highlight real stories, build understanding and celebrate acceptance. Small changes can make workplaces more welcoming for autistic colleagues.

- Create calmer sensory spaces such as quiet rooms or low‑stimulus corners with softer lighting and reduced noise.

- Make communication clearer by using direct language and backing up conversations with written notes.

- Offer flexibility in how people work, including noise‑cancelling headphones, flexible seating or predictable routines.

At RCS, we offer ‘Go Gwyrdd’(Go Green) programme to connect green employers with young jobseekers with disabilities and additional needs. Contact us to get support: https://bit.ly/4bl7QQd

Mae Diwrnod Ymwybyddiaeth Awtistiaeth y Byd (2 Ebrill) yn adeg i dynnu sylw at straeon go iawn, meithrin dealltwriaeth a dathlu cael ein derbyn. Gall mân newidiadau wneud gweithleoedd yn fwy croesawgar ar gyfer cydweithwyr awtistig.

- Creu mannau synhwyraidd digynnwrf megis ystafelloedd tawel neu gorneli isel eu hysgogiad gyda goleuadau gwan a llai o sŵn.

- Cyfathrebu’n gliriach drwy ddefnyddio iaith uniongyrchol a chefnogi sgyrsiau gyda nodiadau ysgrifenedig.

- Cynnig hyblygrwydd yn y modd y mae pobl yn gweithio, gan gynnwys clustffonau atal sŵn, seddi hyblyg neu arferion rhagweladwy.

Yn RCS, rydym yn cynnig rhaglen ‘Go Gwyrdd’ i gysylltu cyflogwyr gwyrdd â phobl ifanc ag anableddau ac anghenion ychwanegol sy'n chwilio am waith. Cysylltwch â ni i gael cymorth: https://bit.ly/4bl7QQd

April is Stress Awareness Month! Let’s move from overwhelmed to resilient by making mental health a priority. Small shifts can lead to a big impact. Here is how to start:

🔹Prioritise self-care: focus on physical exercise to combat mental strain
🔹Find the 'Why': identify the root causes of your stress in life and work
🔹Normalise the conversation: remove the stigma surrounding stress and mental health by talking openly and listening without judgement

At RCS, we provide 2-hour 'Mental Health Awareness' online workshops on a regular basis. Find out more on our Eventbrite page: https://bit.ly/45BrZLN 🌿

March was a busy month at RCS, here’s a quick look at what we got up to:

✅ Delivered workshops with Healthy Working Wales on “Young People’s Health and Wellbeing at Work”

✅ Joined 3 major recruitment events in Rhyl, Llandudno and Porthmadog

✅ Attended key events, including the 'Supporting People with Autism in the Workplace' conference in Wrexham and ‘FLVC Third Sector Conference’ at Theatr Clwyd.

✅ Hosted our quarterly Wellbeing Champions Network

All this while continuing to deliver training and support people across all our programmes!

We can’t wait to see what April brings.

We are thrilled to have been awarded funding through Welsh Government’s Equalities and Inclusion Fund for our proposal to create a new inclusive recruitment website.

We believe the site could be a real game-changer, providing an accessible platform where jobseekers with disabilities or additional needs can find meaningful, accessible job opportunities in suitable work environments. It will also help employers to open up their recruitment to a greater diversity of talent, tapping into available support to create accommodating work environments.

We want to see the site help to close the disability employment gap in Wales – currently the largest in the UK, with a 31%-point difference between disabled and non-disabled people. Job-search is a major challenge for disabled applicants, who make 60% more job applications than non-disabled people – yet only half of disabled applicants get an interview, compared with two thirds of non-disabled applicants.

We will be co-producing the site with disabled people and employers, and would love to hear from people who would like to be involved in its development and testing. Exciting times!

Rydym wrth ein bodd ein bod wedi cael cyllid drwy gronfa Cydraddoldeb a Chynhwysiant Llywodraeth Cymru ar gyfer ein cynnig i greu gwefan recriwtio gynhwysol newydd.

Credwn y gallai’r safle newid pethau go iawn, gan roi llwyfan hygyrch lle gall ceiswyr swyddi ag anableddau neu anghenion ychwanegol ddod o hyd i gyfleoedd swyddi ystyrlon, hygyrch mewn amgylcheddau gwaith addas. Bydd hefyd yn helpu cyflogwyr i agor eu prosesau recriwtio i fwy o amrywiaeth o dalentau, gan fanteisio ar gefnogaeth sydd ar gael i greu amgylcheddau gwaith croesawgar.

Cymru sydd â’r bwlch mwyaf o ran cyflogaeth i bobl anabl yn y DU ar hyn o bryd, gyda gwahaniaeth 31%-pwynt rhwng pobl anabl a phobl nad ydynt yn anabl. Mae chwilio am swyddi yn her fawr i ymgeiswyr anabl, sy’n creu 60% yn fwy o geisiadau swyddi na phobl nad ydynt yn anabl - ac eto, dim ond hanner yr ymgeiswyr anabl sy’n cael cyfweliad, mewn cymhariaeth â dau draean o ymgeiswyr nad ydynt yn anabl.

Byddwn yn cyd-gynhyrchu’r safle gyda phobl anabl a chyflogwyr, a byddem wrth ein bodd yn clywed gan bobl a hoffai fod yn rhai o’i gyfnod prawf a’i ddatblygiad. Cyfnod cyffrous!
