Please be aware that the Met Office have issued multiple yellow and amber weather warnings over the coming days for strong winds, heavy rain, snow and ice. It's likely that the storm, named Storm Goretti, will bring snow to many parts of Wales throughout Thursday 8th January 2026 and into the evening, along with some heavy rain and strong winds too.

Residents are advised to stay safe throughout this period of extreme weather and to look out for elderly, vulnerable neighbours, to ensure they are safe, warm and are not venturing out in this weather.

We are encouraging all eligible groups, particularly 2-3 year olds and those with long term health conditions, such as diabetes and asthma, to get their free flu vaccination before Christmas. Parents whose children missed their flu vaccine in school are also being urged to take up the offer, as flu cases in Wales continue to rise.
