Congratulations to the team at Anchor - Linwood as the home was rated as "Good" by the Care Quality Commission.

The CQC’s robust inspection process gives care homes a rating of Outstanding, Good, Requires Improvement, or Inadequate based on five categories. Linwood care home received high marks in the three categories inspected and rated.

The CQC inspectors were impressed by colleagues at Linwood who recognised resident’s individuality and encouraged them to retain their independence. Inspectors also noted that colleagues at the care home worked well together and supported residents to maintain healthy lives.

Inspectors praised how Linwood’s residents and their relatives were happy with the home and felt safe and well cared for. Additionally, relatives said colleagues were responsive to their family members’ changing needs.

Reeth, located in upper Swaledale around 11 miles west of Richmond, in the Yorkshire Dales, has been described as 'picture perfect'.

Here at Ryders, Swaledale is definitely somewhere we love to live!

If I lived in Swaledale, I genuinely don’t think I’d ever leave. The place just gets under your skin - wide skies, big hills, and the sort of quiet that makes you slow down without even trying.

This is Crackpot Hall - a crumbling little landmark above the River Swale near Keld. It’s thought to have started life as the Duke of Wharton’s deer keeper’s house, then became a farmhouse, before the mining got its claws into the hillside.

The cruel bit is that the very industry that kept folk here also helped finish the place off - the building was abandoned in 1953, blamed on subsidence linked to the nearby lead workings at Beldi. Even now, you can still peer in and spot everyday traces left behind… the kind that makes the hair on your neck stand up a bit.
