If there’s one thing I can guarantee when you attend an appointment at Foot Pro Ripon, it’s that you will feel heard, understood, and properly looked after.
If you have diabetes, it’s really important to attend your annual diabetic health check at your GP surgery. As part of this, your feet should always be checked, as diabetes can affect circulation and sensation in the lower limbs.
One of the best ways to prevent and manage diabetic foot problems is through regular podiatry appointments.
Podiatrists are specialists in the foot and lower limb and undergo extensive training in the prevention, identification, and management of diabetic foot complications. We’re trained to spot potential problems early and address them before they become more serious.
I currently have appointments available from 18th March.

“I sometimes feel so misunderstood at appointments. I’m judged on a set of numbers, rather than being treated as a whole person. So sometimes I find an excuse to postpone my appointments.”
Diabetes can feel tough enough at the best of times, but then you add annual health checks to the equation, and it can feel like one step too far.
If you’ve ever felt like Maria, we get it. There can be so many reasons for putting off a vital health check, and a massive part of that is diabetes stigma. In fact, the latest reports show that 56% of people with diabetes in the UK admitted to missing medical appointments or check-ups due to stigma.
We don’t think that anyone should face diabetes alone or be left feeling like they’re not understood. If you live with diabetes and are looking for support, we’re here 💙
For information on how to make your regular diabetes health checks that little bit easier, we’ve got lots of information about them, what they mean and why they’re so important, along with free downloadable resources to help stay on top of things.
