February is Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and Low Vision Awareness Month, dedicated to raising awareness about the leading cause of sight loss in people over 50. It highlights the importance of regular eye exams, healthy lifestyles, and early detection of the two main types: dry and wet AMD.
Practice Plus Group have developed a mobile AMD macular service, which operates at a number of sites nationally for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of wet AMD and other conditions that affect the macula.
