Are you wondering what happens with the Christmas trees that you donate to our Christmas Tree Collection? 💚

We spoke to our Head Gardener, Michelle, who said: "The Christmas trees are kindly chipped by Special Branch, free of charge, and piled up in the hospice car park.

"The gardening team barrow the chippings to various bark paths to top up the path layers. It is earmarked for the Allotment paths this time."

When you donate your trees, not only will you raise money for Springhill Hospice, but you will also be able to recycle your trees.🎄

Our Christmas Fair was our most successful fair ever in terms of fundraising, and part of this was due to our wonderful sponsors, Community Care Line services.

We are delighted to work with this local business who not only sponsored the event with a £700 donation but also attended the fair offering information and guidance to our visitors.

The wonderful Littleborough Tangent group recently joined us at the Hospice for two festive sessions of wreath making, mulled wine and Christmas songs!

We had a fantastic day and raised £2000, making this the most successful wreath-making session with this great group. 💚

WOW! We had THE most fun with the biggest party at our Christmas Cracker event last week at the Norton Grange.

Our 120 ladies turned up the glitz and glamour for this fabulously festive fun afternoon!

We are still counting the final total, but for no, we wanted to share our huge thanks to our wonderful, kind ladies who attended, plus our gorgeous host, the fierce Farah Rehman and DJ and singer Ali Birchenall.

We're hiring - Nursing Assistant, Bank Staff!

We are looking to recruit a Nursing Assistant, preferably with experience in caring for patients with palliative care needs. The successful applicant will be part of an enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team providing care for patients and families on the Hospice Inpatient Unit.

An NVQ 2/3 in Health & Social Care would be an advantage.

This post is arranged on a bank basis, with hours provided in line with service demand. There is an expectation to complete at least one shift per month.

The deadline for this vacancy is 18th December.

On Sunday, 14th December, the Hospice are having a stall at Rochdale Golf Club's Christmas markets.

Come along from 2pm - 6pm for Christmas stalls, food and listen to festive music played by the brass band.
