🌿 Gardening Season… but is your back ready? 🌿
The sun comes out, the garden calls… and suddenly we’re lifting pots, digging soil, pulling weeds and bending for hours.
It’s one of the most common times of year for back pain.
Why?
Because many gardening tasks involve: • bending forward repeatedly
• twisting while lifting
• carrying heavy pots or bags of compost
• staying in the same position too long
Your spine loves movement and good mechanics, not sudden “weekend warrior” gardening marathons.
A few simple tips: 🌱 Bend your knees when lifting pots or compost bags
🌱 Keep items close to your body when carrying
🌱 Avoid twisting while holding weight
🌱 Take regular breaks and stretch
If your back already feels stiff or painful after gardening, osteopathic treatment can help restore movement, release tight muscles and support your body’s recovery.
And remember — prevention is always easier than fixing a problem later.
