She’s only gone and done it 💥

A HUGE well done to our Osteo on completing her first ever this weekend!

Not knowing what she was getting herself into 😅 AND having only started training since June she absolutely smashed it 💥 Think she may have the bug now 😅

Proof that if you really want to achieve something you CAN!

Well done Sophie 🌟

Here’s our top suggestions when suffering with tight calves⏬

Stretches⏬
⏩ Basic calf stretch: Extend your leg and gently pull your toes toward you to target the gastrocnemius muscle.
⏩ Soleus stretch: Loop a towel or other material around the ball of your foot and pull your toes toward your nose while keeping your knee straight. You can also try this stretch on a step with your heels below the step.

Foam rolling⏬
⏩ Place your ankles on a foam roller and gently roll back and forth.

Heat⏬
⏩ Apply heat to your calves with a heating pad, hot towel, or warm shower to reduce pain, stiffness, and spasms. You can also use heat before exercising to help loosen up your muscles.

Exercises⏬
⏩ Try calf raise machines, kettlebell holds with raises, or exercises using a smith rack to isolate your calf muscles and tendons.

RICE method for mid calf tension ⏬
⏩ Rest: Avoid walking or running, and don’t push through pain.
⏩ Ice: Apply an ice pack or cold compress to your calves for 20 minutes every two hours, but don’t put it directly on your skin.
⏩ Compression: Wrap your calf with a compression bandage to reduce blood flow and swelling.
⏩ Elevation: Prop your leg up so it’s higher than your heart, using pillows, blankets, or cushions to support it

* If you feel any pain or if tightness gets worse please stop immediately
