Very good News!

The ability to detect breast cancer has been boosted thanks to two new pieces of diagnostic equipment now in use in at Medway Maritime Hospital.

Clinicians at the breast care unit can spot abnormalities and identify early signs of the disease more accurately and quickly thanks to the installation of a GE Pristina Mammography Machine and the introduction of Contrast‑Enhanced Spectral Mammography.

Using the lowest levels of radiation, the GE Pristina Mammography Machine is able to generate detailed, high-quality images, to look for breast cancer, changes and benign breast disease making breast imaging safer, quicker and more comfortable.

Advanced imaging also means reliable results and reduces the chance of patients needing repeat scans.

Lorraine Becconsall, head of imaging at the hospital, said: “Our investment in these technologies reflects our commitment to providing the very best early detection and diagnostic services for our patients.

“By improving the clarity and accuracy of breast imaging, we can identify concerns earlier, provide answers sooner, and reduce the need for unnecessary procedures.

“Together, these advances help us deliver more precise results while making the experience significantly more comfortable and less stressful for the people we care for.”

Some really great News for 2026…….Sarah 💕 our Senior Nail Tech/Practitioner, will be adding an extra Day each week on the Booking system (very soon), she is always fully booked, so we hope you will enjoy the extra flexibility this provides, as much as we will! 🙂
Nail expert, Ear Health Practitioner, Phlebotomist/Blood Tests, Beauty Therapist + Vitamin Therapy to date, (also currently on a Foot Health Course), we think she will now seek to develop her own Spiritual Menu, as she has a massive interest in Spiritual awareness & associated Therapies (now a Reiki Master), bringing a new dimension to Salonesque we cannot currently offer! 😃 Wishing her all the best on this journey 👏🏻 Watch this space!

🙂 Yes! Ours are like that…..one year, heavy snow meant some nearby - who had no cars/trains because of heavy snow during the night - wandered in as they thought of somewhere to go now the snow had stopped!! 🤣 It worked so well as some older Clients had to be more careful stepping outside their front door. 🥰
