It has been a busy week for your local NHS, with high demand for services as the winter weather bites.

We can all play our part to ensure we stay well this winter and support services to manage by following these simple steps:

Think Pharmacy First for minor illness. 💊
Join the tens of thousands of people using their community pharmacy as a source of expert advice and treatment for minor illness. They can also now offer prescription medicine for seven common conditions (where appropriate) without the need to see a GP.

Download the Healthier Together app. 📲
It can be difficult for parents to know what to do when little ones get unwell. The Healthier Together app offers instant health advice on how to look after your children at home and the signs to look out for that mean you need help.

Get your repeat prescription orders in early. 📅
It's important to plan ahead for your medications to ensure you don’t run out and need an emergency supply.

Actively support hospital discharge plans when loved ones are ready to return home. 🏥
Helping patients back to familiar surroundings not only benefits them but also frees up beds for those in urgent need of care.

Book your flu jab if you haven’t already. 💪
If you haven't already got yours, it's not too late to protect yourself and your loved ones. Visit the NHS website to check if you're eligible for the free flu vaccine.

Remember, please only attend the emergency department (ED) if your condition poses a risk to life or limb. If you’re unsure what service to use visit 111 online or call 111 for advice and the team will get you to the right help.

Thank you for your support.
