So many times, I hear clients say that they miss not being able to have a “treat” whilst on plan. More often than not, when they say this, they are usually referring to food (more specifically, unhealthy, fatty foods) or alcohol. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t guilty of this occasionally too!
However, these are the things that have usually made us feel rubbish in the first place and are the reason we are on a diet!
When we eat unhealthy, fatty foods and drink alcohol, aren’t these the very things that can make us feel... fat...? Bloated...? Unhealthy...? Tired...? Sluggish...? So if we feel this way when we have a “treat”..... then what actually makes them a treat?
Why can’t we have something that will actually make us feel good about ourselves? This might be a nice healthy meal that we feel proud of ourselves for cooking and enjoying just as much as fast food.
Or what about treating ourselves to something that isn’t food? There are so many things that we can reward ourselves with, it doesn’t have to be food or drink! Here are 50 examples of non-food rewards.
