Grief or depression – and you’re not sure which it is

They can feel incredibly similar… heavy, overwhelming, hard to explain.

But understanding the difference matters — because the support you need may be different too.

Grief is a natural response to loss. It comes in waves. It can soften, shift, and change over time.

Depression can feel more constant. A deeper sense of disconnection, numbness, or loss of interest that doesn’t lift in the same way.

⚠️ Sometimes grief can become prolonged
⚠️ Sometimes depression can develop alongside it
⚠️ And sometimes… it’s hard to tell on your own

You don’t need to label it perfectly. You just need a space to talk, understand what’s happening, and find a way forward that feels right for you.

💬 If you’re unsure what you’re experiencing, we can gently explore it together. Start with a free 15-minute consultation — no pressure, just clarity.

You keep going… but it still feels heavy.

You get through your day,
tick things off your list,
and keep going —

…but inside, it still feels heavy.

That’s okay. 🤍
Feeling drained, tense, or a bit “off” doesn’t mean you’re failing — it often means you’ve been holding a lot for a long time.

Sometimes, it’s the small things that help you get through the day — and noticing those is a powerful place to start.

✨ Small shifts can lead to meaningful change
✨ You don’t have to have it all figured out
✨ You’re allowed support too

If you’ve been quietly thinking about talking to someone, a short conversation could help you see the little steps that make things feel easier.

💬 I offer a free 15-minute consultation — a gentle place to start.

Progress in Solution-Focused Therapy comes in small, practical steps.

Some examples people notice after just a few sessions:
• Noticing a thought instead of getting lost in it
• Reacting differently than before
• Feeling calmer in situations that used to feel overwhelming
• Using strategies from sessions to make daily life easier

Even small shifts can make a big difference and help you feel more in control and empowered in your daily life.

Solution-Focused Therapy and Hypnotherapy are designed to help people see meaningful change early, so your first session feels useful right away.

If you’d like to explore what progress could look like for you, I offer a free 15-minute consultation.

Many people wonder: “What actually happens in a first therapy session?”

It’s simpler than most people expect. You don’t need to prepare anything — and you won’t have to go through all your past. In a solution-focused approach, we focus on what matters now and what will help you feel better, not on digging through every detail of your history.

In our first session, we typically:
• Talk about what brought you here
• Notice what’s already helping
• Explore what you’d like to feel more of in your daily life
• Start using practical steps you can apply right away

Therapy is a space to begin creating positive change immediately — and your first session can already be meaningful.

If you’re curious about what a session could feel like for you, I offer a free 15-minute consultation.

Myth: Ignoring anxiety will make it disappear.
Reality: Avoiding it usually strengthens the cycle — your mind and body continue reacting without you noticing.

In Solution Focused Therapy, the approach is different:
✨ Notice moments when anxiety is slightly less strong
✨ Recognise what already helps you cope, even a little
✨ Explore small steps that move you toward the calmer state you want

Even tiny shifts — building on what’s already working — can help you feel more in control, steadier, and calmer.

You don’t have to face it alone. Sometimes the first step is simply having a gentle conversation to notice what’s already helping and what’s possible next.

That sick feeling in your stomach… and you don’t know why?”

That sudden sick feeling in your stomach.
Your heart racing.
Feeling hot and flustered.
Your mind replaying everything when you're trying to sleep.

Many people experience these symptoms and worry something is physically wrong.
Often, it’s anxiety.
Anxiety is your mind and body trying to protect you, even when there isn’t a real danger present.

The good news is that anxiety can change. When you begin to understand what’s happening and learn ways to respond differently, your mind and body can start to settle again.

Support can help you find your way out of that cycle.

Noticing Your “What If” Thoughts

When your mind starts to spiral, gently ask yourself:
“What’s actually happening right now?”

This simple question helps bring you back to the facts instead of the fears, grounding you in the present moment. Even small awareness can help you feel steadier and more in control 💭

If you’d like support managing anxious thoughts and feeling more in control, I’m here when you’re ready.

Hi everyone 👋
A simple breathing tip that can help calm anxiety quickly:
Inhale for 4 counts, take a tiny extra “sip” of air, then exhale slowly for 6 counts.
Notice your body relaxing as you continue for a minute or two.
If this helps, feel free to save it or try it whenever you need a quick reset.
