❄️ Staying Safe in the Cold Weather 🧤

As the cold weather sets in, here are a few simple ways to stay warm and well:

• 📺 Keep an eye on weather updates and make sure you have enough food and medicine
• 🔥 Heat the rooms you use most to around 18°C
• 🚪 Reduce draughts and keep bedroom windows closed
• 🧥 Wear several light layers
• 🏠 Use energy-saving tips and check appliances are working safely
• 🤗 Check in on vulnerable neighbours or family
• 💉 Get your flu and COVID-19 vaccinations if eligible

While visiting our local doctors’ surgery, we came across the latest issue of Ross Neighbourhood News featuring the amazing work of Ross Good Neighbours and the Ross Community Development Trust — celebrating six years of helping others! 💙

It’s fantastic seeing local groups making such a difference across Ross and the surrounding areas. Community spirit really does make our town special. 💫

🌼 Meet the Carer – Peta! 🌼

This week we’d love to introduce you to Peta, one of our wonderful carers here at Wye Care.

Before joining us, Peta spent the majority of her career working in finance, but her passion for helping others led her to a new and rewarding path in care. She has experience supporting adults with learning difficulties and disabilities in the Forest of Dean, where she discovered just how fulfilling care work can be.

Outside of work, Peta enjoys reading, listening to music, and taking well-earned holidays in the sun! ☀️

We’re so happy to have Peta as part of the Wye Care family . 💛

🌟 Meet the Carer – Kelsey! 🌟

We’re so excited to introduce you to Kelsey, one of our wonderful carers here at Wye Care! 💙

Kelsey recently finished her Health and Social Care Diploma at Hereford College this summer — achieving an incredible D*DD! 🎓👏

She’s always had a passion for supporting others and brings both professional experience and a caring nature to her role. 🌼

During her college placements, Kelsey gained valuable experience in both a nursery and a day centre for people with additional needs — which helped her discover how rewarding care work can be.

Outside of work, Kelsey loves spending quality time with her friends, family, and boyfriend, and enjoys getting out and about to make memories she can later scrapbook. When she’s not busy caring for others, you’ll find her relaxing with her pooch 🐶.

Kelsey’s future goal is to become a social worker, and we’re so proud to have her as part of the Wye Care team as she continues her journey in care. 💙

🍂 Hello Autumn from all of us at Wye Care 🍂

The leaves are starting to turn, there’s a chill in the air, and the kettles are working overtime – autumn is definitely here!

We’re looking forward to the cosy months ahead, making sure our clients stay warm, comfortable, and well supported as the seasons change.

It’s a lovely time of year to slow down, enjoy the colours around us, and appreciate the little things.
